  • The Apartment was very nice and the view over the Valley is spectacular! Unfortunatelly the previous guests didn't move out by the Time we arrived so the Apartment was not ready... Everything is there: from a well equiped kitchen to a romantic fire place! We enjoyed the stay very much!

  • Beautiful chalet overlooking Wengen valley. Well equipped and modern. Near to Eiger hotel.
    Recommend.

  • Best View in the Valley!!! We could not believe our fabulous view of the Eiger, and watched the full moon rise behind it, and the sun come up every morning. We loved the chalet, Alta was great for the 2 of us. We shopped at the coop and ate most meals at the well equipped chalet as restaurants are quite expensive and there is no better view or place to be. Murren is a wonderful no cars village that is easy to get to. We left our car in the covered Lauterbrunnen car park for 5 days with no problem. Loved this place...thank you Nancy and Beat!

  • Best experience in airbnb yet. We even had snow one morning. The chalet is very well equipped and there was a grocery store in Murren where you can get supplies. We got there after closing time in the evening and there was a small Chinese shop where we were able to buy milk

We stored our luggage at the lockers station & just took our small backpacks up to the chalet. You can store your luggage in a building at the bottom of the 60 stairs to the chalet and bring your own lock if you want to secure it.

Very peaceful place with some of the most spectacular views in the world.

The fireplace kept the place warm in the evening.

Will be recommending the chalet to friends and family

  • Nancy & Beat,
You place was fantastic!! Loved the location (just a couple minutes north of the train station and on the outskirts of town so it was extremely peaceful). The chalet is beautiful and had everything we needed to make our swiss stay feel like home.

We did lots of adventuring around the area, so I will warn future travelers that it can get very expensive when you leave the Mürren area. To get from the airport (Geneva) to Mürren it was $98/person. And the same on our departing flight from Zurich. So, we might have been better off getting a Swiss pass, but it was pretty close. Anyone who is fit and looking for a great hike should take the long 6-7 hour journey from Schynige Platte to First. You can even try our a free pair of Lowa hiking books at their test center right off the train in Schynige. That was a lifesaver! You just drop them at the Grindelwald train station on your way back to Mürren. This day cost $200 for two in transportation, but the views are worth it!! Also, everyone should do the Via Ferrata ($25/person) and go paragliding. Two best activities of my life!!!

Thanks for having a great chalet to come home to at the end of all our adventures. It was nice to have a place to cook and save money by not eating out all the time. We hope to come back someday soon!!!

  • We had a great time at Chalet Alta! The chalet was comfortable and very spacious. The view from the window was spectacular! Everything was convenient and Murren had its own grocery store! This was definitely the highlight of our trip!

  • Very nice chalet located in a very nice spot in a very nice village!
The view is breath taking and the chalet is very nice designed and well equipped. We can really recommend it. Thanks a lot to Nancy and Beat!

  • We had a fantastic time at the Chalet Alta. It is brand new and immaculately clean, and is located close to the train station in the beautiful train-only town of Murren. We were able to walk to groceries and other amenities, and hiked all over the place. The photos in the listing don't do this place justice, it's fantastic!

    Response from Nancy And Beat:

Thank you, Beau, for your very kind assessment of our chalet. We appreciate this A LOT. It's been fun working with you, and we'd love to have you return sometime in the future! Thank you for being such an enthusiastic guest! Nancy

  • Snowbird chalet was simply fabulous. From the wood burning stove to the rushing brook outside, the chalet is the perfect spot for a mountain escape. Our part of the chalet was spacious, yet felt cozy and luxurious at the same time. Would definitely be my top pick in all of Berner-Oberland.
