There is an entire floor available in our brand-new home smack-dab in the heart of fun, accessible Southeast Portland! This means that our guest(s) get not only their own quiet bedroom, but also a private full bathroom AND their own nicely-appointed living room. We are steps away from a frequent-service bus line, a terrific sandwich shop that's open for breakfast, lunch AND dinner, a pizza joint, a Starbucks, and, best of all, a Trader Joe's! The house is about a mile south of the trendy Hawthorne district, and about four miles east of downtown Portland. The house itself is a beautiful, soaring Doug Fir- and hemlock-constructed dream home decorated with one-of-kind glass art pieces and potted succulents. Our guests have access to our fabulous kitchen in addition to their own first-floor amenities.
As a courtesy to our guests, our check-in time is 3:00pm; however, as we both work weekdays, we cannot have the rooms ready until 5:00 or so. What this means is that our guests are welcome to make themselves at home in their living room or just drop their bags off and head out exploring, but they won't be able to rest their weary heads or hit the showers until we've had a chance to get home and tidy up.
We have a cat who has the run of the house, but the guest bedroom and guest bathroom doors are kept closed and the cat sticks by our sides when we're home. We also have a black Lab puppy who is incredibly mellow and friendly, and who does NOT have the run of the house just yet.
Lastly, to our guests during the colder months: the guest floor tends to be the coolest in the house, and we provide space heaters and afghans for your comfort, but we figure we should let you know ahead of time that if you run cold, ours may not be the ideal place for your stay.
Of possible interest to those familiar with the ongoing discussion about how Airbnb fits into its hosts' local economies: we pay 11.5% of our Airbnb revenues toward the City of Portland's Transient Lodging tax, and another 1% toward the State of Oregon's Lodgings tax. Airbnb is not currently configured to allow hosts to collect these taxes above and beyond the basic room rate we charge, which means that those of us who are trying to do the right thing are paying out more than one-eighth (net of fees) of the money we earn to support local tourism.
Even before we arrived the directions were clearly given to us as to how to check in & check out. The room was all cleaned up! It was cozy, comfy, and well equipped with everything you need from a heater to umbrellas. I'm so thankful to have stayed at Brad & Becca's place for the weekend! They are friendly and an absolutely adorable couple.
Thank you guys!
We had a great stay. Arriving was easy with the combo key, the room was cozy, the entire home was beautiful, and communication with Brad & Becca was great. We appreciated the little extras like chocolates on the bedside tables and umbrellas left for our use if needed. Thanks for a great first Airbnb experience, B&B! Sending hugs to sweet Biscuit (the snuggliest cat ever) and your new pup!
Brad and Becca's place was perfect for my quick stay in Portland! They are a quick drive away from a nice up and coming neighborhood with a ton of shops, restaurants, etc.
the room was as advertised, and the whole first floor is essentially yours
Brad and Becca were the consummate hosts! We were new to airbnb, and they answered every one of our questions with graciousness and enthusiasm. Their home is lovely and their spirits even lovelier. The accommodations were clean and comfortable, and their pets were even perfect! We can't wait to go back.
Brad and Becca were great hosts for our trip to Portland. Their accommodations were perfect! Centrally located to great areas! Thanks again for letting us stay at your hip pad!!
Great hosts! Extremely friendly & responsive with a very nice house. The room was exactly as.described, which means it was comfortable , clean & pleasant. Only stayed a night, but had zero complaints. Very positive experience.
I had a fantastic experience being hosted for one night by Brad and Becca as I stopped in Portland on my roadtrip. They have an amazing home, of which the room I stayed in couldn't have been better. I was particularly intrigued by world map on the wall in the room, showing where guests they have had are from and was happy to add to this. The shared living, kitchen and dinning space added to the homely experience with neatness and great ambiance throughout.
Brad and Becca were very communicative, welcoming, informative and considerate.
I highly recommend a stay with them in Portland.
This was my first time using airbnb and it was great! Brad and Becca are real cool people! Only chatted for a bit because my friends and I needed to try every restaurant possible. Their home is really nice: clean, quiet, and relaxing. I'd definitely stay with them again! Thanks for making my first airbnb stay a great experience.
Probably the most awesome hosts I've stayed with so far, and yet I only got to stay with them for 2 days. Brad and Becca were super friendly, easy to communicate with, and easy going. They are great hosts whether you want to socialize or have total privacy. They provided nearly all the essential amenities one would need. I was on a trip for an interview, so having an iron and board in my room for my personal use (along with umbrellas) was great. The house was super clean and tidy, as well as BEAUTIFUL! I take a big appreciation in visually pleasing atmospheres, so this added to my great stay.
Biscuit and Carlos (kitty and puppy) were pleasant to be around whenever they were present!
Thanks for a great stay.
We had a terrific stay. Brad and Becca were very kind, the space is great and the location was really convenient for us. I'd recommend their home and wouldn't hesitate to book with them again.
