The apartment has a small, well-equipped kitchenette in the entrance area. The room contains a double bed and a pull-out sofa, a large closet, a coffee table and dining-room table with 4 chairs. There is central heating and air conditioning, free WI-FI and cable TV. In the bathroom there is a washing machine. A drying rack, an iron and ironing board are also available.
The apartment is on the first floor, ideal for two, but can accommodate three guests comfortably. A baby cot is available on request (FOC). Coffee, tea, salt, pepper, our own olive oil and similar are complimentary.
You can also use our 2 bikes (FOC).
Free parking on premise is available in our court yard.
Guest have access to everything in the apartment. You can use our 2 bikes for riding in the city (FOC). There are no shared areas and nothing is off limits.
Interaction with Guests
I always try and meet my guests at the point of their arrival, regardless of the time. I am happy to take the guests to the apartment, offer explanations, advice or answer questions. If guests arrive before normal check-in time (14.00) I can take care of their luggage while they explore the city. Finally, if the guests stay for a longer period of time, I will probably take them to my favourite pub (or coffee bar). I do enjoy getting to know people.
As far as the neighbourhood is concerned, the apartment is located in a quiet street (named after a Croatian queen from the 10th century) with little traffic and many trees, and there is a very nice, lush park with a playground just up the street. There is a farmers' market round the corner (fresh produce and flowers, several convenience stores, coffee bars and little restaurants), and a shopping center with a multiplex, pubs and restaurants on the next block.
Most of Zagreb's attractions (vibrant downtown coffee shops, cosy restaurants, street fairs, galleries and museums) can be reached on foot in no time. Public transit (trams and buses running in several directions) is just round the corner. We'll be happy to provide directions, maps and advice. For starters, check out our Guidebook. We have only included our personal favourites (bars and restaurants). All of them can be reached on foot in tops 15 minutes.
There is free parking in our yard and public transit just around the corner. The airport shuttle is a 5-minute walk away and I always meet the guests at the last stop of the airport shuttle.
Other Things to Note
We can provide 2 bikes (adult size) free of charge.
The house rules are very simple: there is no smoking and pets are not allowed. You are free to use all of the ammenities and equipment - no additional charges for the internet or similar.
The only thing we expect from guests is to treat the apartment and everything in it with reasonable care. Everything in the apartment is new and we took great care to make things handy and simple to use - there should be no problems.
Finally, the guests should be aware that there are other people living in the building and that the rule of being a good neighbour always applies. Just like it does at home. Thank you for your interest!
Even though we were 2 hours later than anticipated, our host Robert was ready to meet us on a short notice, and he showed us the apartment and helped us get comfortable. Furthermore, he took us for a nice walk to downtown, showing us many interesting places and helping us get our bearings right on our first visit. The apartment was even better than it looked in the photos, and was cosy and clean, and we wouldn't mind staying longer than 2 days. A very important thing for us was that the apartment has its own parking space inside the building gates, which is very important in downtown Zagreb (don't let anyone tell you that finding street parking is easy, it took us 45 minutes to find one on Sunday after we checked out). All in all, a great place to stay for several nights, within walking distance of everything downtown, and in a safe area. Thanks again to Robert, hope to see you again soon! :)
Robert was the perfect host. He corresponded first by email and answered all of our questions before we arrived (e.g., info about vegetarian restaurants). He met us at the train station, walked us to the apartment, and then walked us to the Information Center downtown. The apartment also had some useful brochures to give us some ideas of things to do.
The apartment was also perfect! The WiFi was excellent, and the bed was just about the right firmness. The water in the shower sometimes got a bit cold, but I doubt there is much to be done about that. It was nice to have a small kitchen, although we decided to eat out most of the time. The location was good - less than a 10 minute walk to the downtown area and quiet at night. We will definitely go back if we return to Zagreb.
Robert is fantastic, he insisted on meeting us at the rental car drop off which made things a bit easier for us and to make a good thing better he kindly drove us to the apartment saving us the, albeit short, walk (the apartment is located super close to the train station and is an easy walk to the old city). He gave us some great advice and was very welcoming. The apartment itself is superb, it has everything you need and is warm, dry, spacious and comfortable. We weren't in Zagreb long so didn't get a chance to grab a beer with Robert but if you're in town for long enough you should totally take him up on the offer if he's free.
Robert was a great host! He has a lovely flat in the center of Zagreb and was very welcoming. His flat is equipped with everything you need for a short stay, it has a brand new bath, a small kitchen, very good internet and a backyard where you can park your car. Robert also gives you some good tips where to go during your stay.
Robert is very very helpful. He met us at the train station to bring us to his apartment, which is cosy and spacious. Everything is as good as new and there is washing machine as well. When Robert met us, he even brought umbrellas as Zagreb is snowing heavily.
This home was perfect!!
It was very safe town, safe home and clean and comfortable.
It has safe parking lot.
It takes 15minutes by walk to Ban Jelacic Square.
Robert is very nice and kind man!
And Zagreb is very nice city.
I recommend this home^^
Can't live without my family, coffee, music, challenging tasks, long walks and friends. I like meeting new friends and exchanging jokes, stories and receipes. Spicy food, preferably. Hope you'll stay long enough to let me take you to my favourite pub: only the best of beers :D
Life motto? Be happy!
