The space
24' x 24' private room in the upstairs of a barn. Cuddle up with an alpaca blanket, sleep under an alpaca duvet, and fully enjoy this lovely room equipped with wifi, flat screen TV, DVD player, bar fridge, intercom, hot plate, water cooler, double bed, and futon couch. Facilities are just outside and downstairs... a double hole outhouse. There is NO SHOWER OR PLUMBED IN RUNNING WATER on-site. For showers, you can travel into Quesnel to enjoy the pool, steam room, weight room and sauna at the Quesnel and District Arts & Recreation Centre. Lots of board games & books available too. Sauna on-site too. This can be lite up for an additional fee but we need to know 2 days in advance. Towels can be provided.

NEW*** We are excited to announce that we now have a cob (wood fired earthen oven) on-site which perfects the baking of bread, pizza , "Treatzas", and cinnamon buns. If there is a fire ban, this is still an option but pizzas will be cooked in our 1924 wood cook stove from Sackville, New Brunswick.

All pizzas are prepared by hand with a speciality dough (made over 2 days) and fresh ingredients (local where possible). If you wish to enjoy a oven baked pizza for supper, please let us know. A minimum of 4 days notice is required for pizza orders with full payment upon order. No exceptions! Minimum order for 2 x 12" pizzas & the experience is $60.00 + GST. Additional pizzas are $20.00 each. Kids under 2 eat for free. Children age 2 to 10 can opt for a small (6") pizza for $14.00 each. All others are treated as an adult. One pizza / person.

The picnic shelter is available for food preparation (includes BBQ, Coleman Stove, wood cook stove, dishes, cutlery, pots, wash bins, and detergent). Fee is $25.00 / day. We ask that the shelter be left as you found it.

Firewood: $25.00 / bundle (5-6 pieces of averaged sized firewood (5-6" diameter x 18").

Where you’ll be

Quesnel, British Columbia, Canada

Moose Meadows Farm is located 15 km. west of the City of Quesnel in the rural community of Bouchie Lake. Although the area is well developed, it is rural living at its best. As such, we share the world with many species of wildlife. In Bouchie Lake there are 2 retail outlets (Country Store; Convenience Store / Gas Station / Restaurant); 1 community hall; a fire station; and a school. All of these are 5 km. west of the farm. There are several lakes and creeks in the area. Purser Creek flows through the farm right behind the barn whereas the closest lake is Milburn Lake. Both it and Bouchie Lake (5 km. from the farm) are excellent for fishing. Please note although the Groom's Quarters B&B is fully equipped with modern amenities, it does not have running water and /or a bathroom in the suite. We are able to accommodate horse too... ask about our Bed & Bale option.

Both myself and my husband Ted are Foresters from British Columbia, Canada. we live the small rural community of Bouchie Lake 15 km. west of Quesnel in north Central BC. We too are AirBnB Hosts. Our trip to Scotland in the summer of 2019 allowed us a chance to try AirBnB "from the other side" and it has been a fabulous experience. We also "AirBnB'ed" in Nova Scotia (Cape Breton) in the fall of 2019; a place we wish to return to soon.
We have met many wonderful people and stayed in all sorts of accommodation ranging from fully equipped houses where we had the run, to rooms in a private house, to private rooms in a "hostel". We live on a farm (Moose Meadows Farm) and enjoy our lives with many 4-legged friends. We love to travel and so far have traveled, together, to the UK 2x and across Canada several times. In 2018, we "yellowheaded" it to Winnipeg and back to visit a friend. Ted is originally from New Brunswick, Canada whereas Heloise grew up in south-western British Columbia. Heloise has also travelled to New Zealand and continental Europe long before AirBnB existed.
