Newton Centre Full Bed, Walk to T!

Apartment - Private room · Paul St, Newton, MA 02459, United States

The Space

In an apartment on the first floor of a home in Newton Centre, the guest bedroom is furnished with a full sized bed, comfortable mattress, and plenty of space for luggage and personal belongings. A shared bathroom is right down the hall, as is the kitchen and other rooms in the front part of the house. It is quiet in the back of the house and has its own thermostat, cable/wifi, and will come with sheets/towels, a dresser for your clothing, etc. It is two blocks from the Newton Centre Green Line T stop, plenty of buses, and all the shops and restaurants of Newton Centre. As well, it is very close to I-95, Route 9 or the Mass Pike. You're welcome to use the fridge and do some light cooking if you're stay will be lengthy. (Please note that the kitchen is Kosher style - and I do not allow shellfish or pork products in the house. Thanks!)

This apartment is perfect for commuting on the T for med school interviews around Longwood, celebrating graduations from the various Boston area colleges, attending conferences in the area, or sightseeing around town. It is less ideal for you if you plan to spend a lot of time hanging out at home, though you are always welcome in the main living space, too.

  • Jen was friendly and her place was clean and comfy. Excellent location--you can walk to anything in Newton Center. I'd gladly go back.

  • I needed a place for my cousin and aunt. Jen's place was very convenient being super close to the T and she was very nice and responsive to everything! Will definitely recommend to anyone!

  • Jen was a terrific host. Although we didn't see each other everything was laid out as she described. I highly recommend Jen's place. She is thoughtful and conscientious about all the details.

  • Jen was a nice host—even when our flight was very delayed and we did not arrive until 1am (subway had closed, had to take a $55 cab and give the cabbie turn-by-turn directions). She was also quick to respond to messages and flexible when we had some issues during booking. The room had a soft bed, a chaise extension-like chair, a dresser, 2 nightstands w/lamps, and a fan. The bathroom we shared with Jen was freshly cleaned. Because the room looks out over a park, you might hear a lawn mower or kids playing sports if you sleep in. We did not do any cooking, but Jen let us stash leftovers in the fridge and reheat them in the microwave. Use of the washer/dryer was helpful. A 5 min walk to the Newton Centre subway station (felt pretty safe, even in the dark), then about a 30 min ride from the suburb of Newton to downtown Boston on the Green D line. We bought the handy 7 day pass for the bus/subway. Between her going to work and us being out sight-seeing every day, we didn't see too much of Jen but she was friendly & helpful and we would stay with her again.

  • Jen was very kind to allow me to stay at her home which was conveniently located near the Green "D" Train (T) line. I took the T to Back Bay back and forth for a week. The public transit is a good value - flat rate of $18 for a week of unlimited rides on any color coded T line, or buses, (within 20 miles of Boston). Jen's home is also near a Whole Foods and a Vegetarian restaurant, so it was a good location for me. The neighborhood was very safe and the people were helpful on the train.

  • We wanted to be in Newton Centre so this worked perfectly for us. Jen wasn't there so we didn't meet her, but the keys and the bed were. All went well. Boston needed A/C that night, but the fan in the room was all we needed. Steve

  • Jen was a great host, and the room was exactly what I was looking for! Our schedules only allowed for a few days for us to get to know each other while I was there, but Jen made me feel right at home. She definitely did everything she could to make my stay comfortable. Setting up my stay was no trouble at all, and I certainly appreciated her hospitality. I would be very happy to stay here again next time I'm in Cambridge!

  • Jen was an extremely responsive host and even made arrangements for our late arrival. She made great efforts to communicate and make sure our stay was smooth. In addition, the location is walking distance in Newtown Centre.

  • Jen is a welcoming host who made us feel instantly at home. The room and bed were clean and comfortable as was the bathroom.

It was definitely a good experience.

  • Jen was very friendly and helpful host, she answered my emails pretty fast which it was great because I reserved the room one day in advanced. Her house was in a nice, quiet neighborhood a few blocks from the T station so it was really easy to move around Boston.
