We would share our food with you. Bread toaster, toaster, coffee machine and juice mixer are avaliable.
I'm a educator living in Guangzhou, with education background from Japan and the United States.
I am offering a one bedroom apartment. Albeit small, this apartment is clean and tidy. The best part is that it is safe and quiet... The metro and bus stations are very closed to here, and I would recommend visitors to use local taxi (as it is very cheap). It will take around 15 minutes by taxi to reach the downtown center; and 30 minutes by bus to the Guangzhou University City (Sun Yat-Sen University, Guangzhou university and etc.)
I will have clean sheets and towels waiting. There's wireless internet and air-conditioning throughout the apartment. If you like, we could even cook together, or have dinner together. Before or during your stay, I will be more than happy to share with you some of my personal favorite places for you to visit, to see, to shop, and to eat in Guangzhou. I look forward to hosting you!
P.S. If you're taking the metro from the airport, I can pick you up at the station in downtown at no extra cost :)
Keep the room clean as best as you can.
No smoke in room.
No friend comes with you.
I felt welcome even before I arrived at the apartment and I have nothing but good things to say about my airbnb experience in Guangzhou! The apartment was clean, convenient, safe, in a great location, close to public transportation and various stores, restaurants, markets, etc. Fan and Micky are smart, genuine, kind people. There was a personal welcome note next to some breakfast food on the table when I arrived, which made me feel at home right away. Micky showed me around the area and took me to some of her favorite places in Guangzhou. She made herself available and was extremely helpful, especially since I don't speak a word of Mandarin or Cantonese. Micky even accompanied me to the train station on my last day, helping me with my heavy suitcases. Her enthusiasm is contagious and she made my trip to Guangzhou extra special - I miss her already! This place of ideal for couples or solo travelers. I will be back there for sure.
The pleasure and joy that I experienced while in Guangzhou was in no small measure the result of having chosen to stay in Fan's flat. First of all the place was as described: compact, but efficient; tidy and clean; about a ten minute walk to the Metro station (depending on your pace and navigational skills); and conveniently near shops. The flat is located in a quiet, modern housing complex that offers many creature comforts. But beyond the physical niceties, Micky, who was filling in for Fan, was a marvellous hostess! She was accommodating, conversant, continually willing to help as she could, charming and kind, and quick to respond to queries. In many ways Micky was central to my having such an enjoyable stay in Guangzhou. Would I recommend Fan's lodgings to other? Absolutely! I feel very fortunate in having found such a delightful place to stay, as well as such a gracious and generous hostess. Thank you.
Fan graciously welcomed me back to this apartment for another, shorter stay - and it was a great experience again (see my review below). Thanks for all your help, Fan!
my wife and I have been extremely happy to be hosted by Fan during this second journey in China. First because we were happy to live among a true and calm middle class community, and secondly because Fan helped us to understand deeply some aspects of the Chineese society and its food: Fan and her lovely friends didn't simply host us as guests but truly integrated us in their daily life. This experience was therefore unique and valuable to us.
We greatly recommend for all curious people looking for more than a simple place to live !
P.S. Transportation was easy thanks to a metro station and several bus stations nearby to reach the new city center within half an hour. Chineese public transportation system is anyway world class.
I have only good things to say about my experience with Fan and the wonderful apartment she kindly let me stay in for 3 weeks. First, Fan is an incredibly helpful host. We communicated several times before I came to Guangzhou; and once I was in Guangzhou, Fan met me outside her apartment complex and was always willing to help me navigate the city. Or, when Fan was not around in her apartment upstairs, Mickey and Huihui helped me with everything I needed. 经! And, in terms of the apartment - it has all you need and more. I particularly liked having a kitchen table to eat at (many times sharing a meal with Fan, Mickey and Huihui) and also a large desk and comfortable couch in the living room to work/relax. The apartment complex is gated and mostly quiet, with the only noise coming from little children running around outside (there is a kindergarten 12 floors below the apartment). As far as location, there are places to eat as well as buy vegetables, fruit, and basic groceries around the edge of the complex. But if you're looking to explore the city, you will want to learn the bus system as it is the easiest way to get around Guangzhou from Fan's location - even to get to nearby metro stations. There are two major bus stops directly in front of the apartment building that for 2 yuan can take you anywhere you need to go in the city. It is also very easy to get a taxi from Fan's place if you're in a rush. I would recommend Fan's apartment to people who are staying in Guangzhou for more than just a few nights. Fan is a wonderful host and seemed to genuinely enjoy helping me get to know and feel welcome in Guangzhou. Thank you for everything, Fan!
