Private Apartment- Surfside Beach

Apartment - Private room · Sandy Ln, Myrtle Beach, SC 29575, United States

Within a mile of the beach and close to grocery stores and some great places to eat.

The Space

2014- Just installed a smoke and carbon monoxide detector provided for us by airbnb for all their properties.
2013-WE JUST ADDED A REFRIGERATOR, MICROWAVE, AND FLAT SCREEN TV TO THE ROOM!
We have a private apartment for rent less than a mile from the beach. Less than one block from a waterpark that also has go-karts and miniature golf. Less than a mile from a golf center with a golf course, a par 3 course, miniature golf, and tennis. Close to food. Several restaurants and two grocery stores are nearby. A Domino's Pizza is half a block away. All this in the quiet Surfside Beach area, only 5 miles from the shopping and tourism in Myrtle Beach.
The furnished apartment is in the front offices of our warehouse. We run a small remodeling company and have the space. It's in a nice industrial park only a block from the highway.
It's clean and private. You have your own full bathroom. There's plenty of parking. Although there's some activity around the building during the day and in the office next door in the morning, you have it all to yourself at night. The workers do arrive at the office building around 7:30 a.m., so if you're a really light late sleeper, it might not work perfectly.
Don't be alarmed if you see a police car in the parking lot. A cop rents a warehouse at the end of the building, which means we get a very visible police presence which makes things even safer.
I'm sorry on this next point, so please don't take it personally, but please don't inquire regarding rental if you haven't taken the time to fill out a profile and post a photo of yourself.

Guest Access

In the room is a Cat-5 cable for primary Internet. The building does have Wi-Fi, but it's spotty in the building, so use the Cat-5 if there is any trouble.

Interaction with Guests

I'd love to interact as much as you'd like, as long as you're pretty cool. If you want to hang out, feel free to ask what me and my family are up to during your stay.

  • Unfortunately, I did not have a wonderful experience and it was partly my fault. The room is in a warehouse about 20 minutes outside of Myrtle Beach on a seemingly empty road. It has no windows and smells a little musty ( I assume this is because it is attached to a warehouse). As a woman traveling alone, I felt very unsafe there and did not stay. Dr. David's wife was really nice to me, but I wasn't comfortable staying there. This is not a reflection of Dr. David's or his wife's professionalism, just something for woman traveling alone to make a note of.

  • We had a great stay. Dr David left us a nice gift when we arrived. Room was exactly as advertised. We loved walking up early and taking a short drive to the beach to watch the sunrise!

  • I will start by saying that my room was adequate. This was exactly as it was described in the listing. From other reviewers I knew that there was no windows, and that the walls were slightly thin. Honestly, the muffled voices in the next room didn't bother me one bit. WARNING TO OTHERS WHO WILL STAY HERE: I was a single traveler, and unbeknownst to me, the front desk left a sign saying to go around to the side of the building for assistance, but they didn't specify which door! So all of a sudden someone had opened the door to my room while I was filling out postcards! The poor people opened the door to me screaming (thank god I wasn't getting out of the shower). So LOCK YOUR DOOR! My door lock was faulty, so it hindered me leaving the room on occasion, but Dr David was very nice about fixing it. Also, because he had a heavy schedule, it was a bit tough to get in touch with Dr David, but don't let that hinder your decision. From what I understand it was a rarity, and frankly it's rare on my end to have to get in touch with my host for any reason.

Glad you had a good time here at the beach.
    Got the lock fixed now.
    Thanks!

  • The room was a perfect stop for my boyfriend and I on our road trip. We got in late and left early the next day so the room was a good choice for us. The area is safe and we even walked to the beach to go to a few bars. Overall it was a good experience! I would recommend this location.

  • I apprieciated David's willingness to book on a last minute basis at Christmas time. Everything was as described and very appealing. maybe next time when it is not a holiday we will get a chance to say hi. Thanks David. I left the drawing and the notebook in the desk.

  • Absolutely awesome- lived the upgrades to the place! Also enjoyed meeting some of Dr. Powers' friends and family when I checked out

  • The room was very homey and comfortable and in a nice tucked away little spot. We got to meet Dr. Powers and he was great. We lost our key (still don't know how) and he was able to come by within minutes with a spare. Can't say enough good things!

  • The apartment was exactly what I was looking for. Comfortable bed, desk and chairing, cable, and wifi were all as advertised. I will definitely be back! David stopped by to say hello and was very nice.

  • Great value, has all the essentials, quiet. Just know that this room is in a warehouse about 20 min from the airport. There also aren't any windows which makes it really dark - great for sleeping but probably should keep your cell phone handy for when you go to the bathroom!

I never even thought about that. Gonna buy a nightlight for the bathroom.
