Our place is great for couples, solo adventurers, and families (with kids). The 16' bell tent is located on our quiet 5 acre property within walking distance to downtown Sawyer. Lake Michigan And Warren Dunes are a 4 minute drive away. If our chickens are cooperating, fresh farm eggs will be delivered to your private mailbox for you to cook up. Relax. And enjoy!

Update on our 2020 Camping Season:

In addition to our standard cleaning routines, we have implemented the following policies and precautions in light of the current COVID-19 Pandemic:
-In order to limit the amount of exposure of volume of guests we will be requiring a 2 night minimum stay.
-We ask that all guests refrain from interacting with other guests. Specific trails will be dedicated to each tent. Roaming the entire property will not be available until further notice.
-We have raised our cleaning fees to compensate for cleaning supplies for the more extensive measures in time and sterilization procedures.
-All guests will have access to hand sanitizers & wipes.
-Each tent will have its own portajohn which will be sterilized after each guest check out.
-We have increased the frequency of sterilizing common surfaces by cleaning with commercial grade disinfectant solutions as prescribed by the EPA and CDC.
-We ask all guests exhibiting symptoms of the flu or COVID-19 to refrain from visiting the Property.
-As always we will continue to offer self check-ins to any guests who prefer not to directly interact with property owners.
-All above Policies are subject to change upon the developing status of COVID-19 situation.

Our 2 bell tents are the first and only authentic "fancy camp" in Harbor Country, complete with unique furnishings, local handmade soap for use in the solar showers, coffee, a propane grill, pots and pans, utensils, silverware, melamine plate and bowls, and a cozy bed with blankets and linens.

All you'll need is your belongings, firewood for the firepit, groceries , ice, water, bug spray, a small propane tank and beverages! The two markets just down the road can provide all of the above!

The tent will comfortably sleep 2 guests on a queen bed. At this time, we need all guests to bring their own sheets, blankets and pillows. If additional guests are joining you, please bring your own bedding, pillows and an air mattress if you’d rather not sleep on the floor.

Weather proof shoes or boots also suggested in case of rain.

Also, there are mosquitoes. There may even be bugs in the tent. We’ve planted bug, spider and mosquito deterrent (mint) outside of the tent but it is nature. They may creep in. I don’t feel comfortable spraying pesticide. But will do what I can naturally to help deter.

If there's something that you forgot, chances are we have it. So feel free to ask us!

And if you have more guests interested in joining you, check out our Big Top tent. www.airbnb.com/rooms/23870037

Guest access
You're welcome to explore our trails near the tent! You may run into a deer or two or three.

Other things to note
There is a portable outdoor toilet and solar shower near the tent. No running water or electricity. Our solar string lights, battery operated candles and lanterns will provide cozy lighting. The fire pit and Coleman propane stove are onsite for cooking up meals. Camp style. Nothing too fancy. But all camping essentials will be available.

We do have a rooster. Though he stays in the pen with our chickens on the other side of the property, his crow may carry.

We also have some barn cats, a sassy pig named Penny and an amazing dog named Bubba. The cats may wander over to say hello. But we'll keep Bubba away during your visit.

Location

Sawyer, Michigan, United States

Spanning the length of a football field (maybe a few added yardsticks,) Sawyer has a personality that is as seasoned as any town across the country. Century old buildings now house Sawyer Market that offers homemade Indian food made fresh every Friday, Sawyer Garden Center, a palatial pit stop filled with stalls of fresh local produce and specialty food items, and Greenbush Brewery (drafting up some of the best beer around!)

Stroll down the sidewalk, grab a hot or cold pressed cup of coffee at Infusco. From there, saunter across the street to a shop selling an eclectic mix of the coolest vintage home furnishings. You'll be greeted by the fabulous owner and her sweet pup.

Add a train that periodically choos through town, a quaint little post office, a hardware store and a soon to open restaurant called Susan’s! Just beyond downtown Sawyer, pop into Peasants Pantry for a fabulous breakfast or lunch or grab dinner and a drink at Mesa Luna.

Take approximately 300 steps up and down the sidewalks (give or take) and you'll be sure to find almost everything that you could possibly need while being greeted by some of the nicest people around.
This is our Downtown.
Hope you love it as much as we do!
