Casa Fagiolina's location means that you can endlessly explore hilltop towns and enjoy the countryside but also take a day trip to Rome by train. Relax on your own terrace, in the garden or the pool .Enjoy pretty walks through olive groves or visit other parts of the Sabina area. Dine out in authentic farmhouse restaurants. When you make a booking request I will send you a link to my insider's online digital guide which has comprehensive local information.

The space
A light, air-conditioned comfortable, well-equipped apartment with a garden, large terrace and a pool . Enjoy sweeping views of the Sabina olive groves, Mount Soratte and the hilltop town of Fara in Sabina. The property is detached and fenced; the surrounding garden has hammocks, garden furniture, fruit trees, olive trees and a herb garden.

It is ideal for those wanting to visit Rome on a day trip but to enjoy the surrounding countryside at the same time. There are several lovely outdoor pools a 10-15 minute drive away.

Home comforts include free wifi, Smart TV with Netflix, DVD, central heating, air conditioning, a log fire, a very well-equipped kitchen and comfortable seating and dining areas both inside and outside. You'll find a complimentary bottle of wine chilling in the fridge on arrival, tea and coffee supplies and my own extra virgin olive oil for use in the kitchen. Feel free to help yourselves to fresh herbs from the garden and any fruit that is in season.

The double bedroom has its own small balcony and the twin room can be made into a double if required. A travel cot is available. You will find Casa Fagiolina has all the comforts of home.

The kitchen cupboards are well-stocked with plentiful pots and pans. There is a dishwasher, kettle, toaster, electric citrus juicer, food processor, Kenwood mixer and a Nespresso coffee machine. Guests enjoy the fact that the apartment has all the comforts of home and is in a perfect location.

Canneto is famous for its ancient olive tree, a pleasant walk from the apartment. There are many small, medieval villages to explore nearby including Farfa (famous for its ancient abbey) and Fara in Sabina, a hilltop town. You will find guide books and local information in the apartment and I have also created a digital guide that will tell you everything you need to know about the area.

I live in the apartment downstairs (the house is a 2 storey detached) and am happy to give you any hints and suggestions for exploring the area if I am around. My work in the world of tourism means you may not encounter me on your visit. Help is always available if needed, however.

The village has a well-stocked grocery store, 2 bars, a butcher, a Post Office and friendly locals!

The Fara Sabina railway station is a 15-minute drive away. Trains go regularly to Roma Tiburtina (40 mins), Ostiense, Tuscolano or Trastevere with links to the Rome underground from Roma Tiburtina. There is comprehensive information in the apartment regarding local walks and visiting the local area and Rome.

Cyclists are very welcome. The area is perfect for this sport, with quiet roads, plenty of hills and amazing vistas.

Casa Fagiolina is a joy to come home to after a day exploring Rome or the surrounding area. Peace, birdsong, cicadas, a glass of wine on the terrace....bliss!

Where you’ll be

Canneto, Lazio, Italy

This is authentic, off-the-beaten-track Italy, barely touched by tourism. I love the contrast between city and countryside. After a day buzzing around Rome this is the perfect retreat.

Hello Travellers!

So what's a British lass, born in Liverpool and brought up in North Wales, doing living in Italy? Most people assume I fell in love with an Italian and followed my heart. Wrong! In reality, when a long relationship with my English partner ended, I decided on a major life change. Italy would be my new home! How happy I am that I made that choice! I had studied Italian at university in Bath so this made the move less scary.

Bellagio, Lake Como, was my first home - in my Airbnb, Casa Bellagina. Today I live in the olive groves near Rome in my Airbnb, Casa Fagiolina. I am privileged to have homes in such beautiful parts of Italy and am thrilled to share them with my guests.

I work in the travel industry, accompanying groups around this amazing country. It is a dream job. My favourite Italian cities are Venice and Rome. My favourite cuisine is Sicilian, my favourite wine, Amarone. Italy is so diverse. There is always something new to discover and my own travel wish list gets longer not shorter!

My latest passion is cycling. What a beautiful way to see the countryside and exercise at the same time! I also enjoy walking, skiing, swimming and yoga. I love to keep busy, positive and learning.

Since I joined Airbnb in 2010 I have had the honour of hosting people from all over the world. Long may that continue!
