The Space

A light, air-conditioned comfortable, well-equipped apartment with garden and large terrace. Enjoy sweeping views of the Sabina olive groves, Mount Soratte and the hilltop town of Fara Sabina. The property is detached; the surrounding garden has fruit trees, olive trees and a herb garden. It is ideal for those wanting to visit Rome but to enjoy the surrounding countryside at the same time. There are several lovely outdoor pools a 10-15 minute drive away. Home comforts include free wifi , Sky TV, DVD, central heating, air conditioning and a log fire, a very well-equipped kitchen and comfortable seating and dining areas both inside and outside on the spacious terrace. You'll find a complimentary bottle of wine chilling in the fridge on arrival, tea and coffee supplies and my own extra virgin olive oil for using in the kitchen. Budding chefs may help themselves to fresh herbs from the garden too. The double bedroom has its own small balcony and the twin room can be made into a double if required. A travel cot is available.

The kitchen cupboards are well-stocked with plentiful pots and pans. There is a dishwasher, kettle, toaster, electric citrus juicer, food processor, Kenwood mixer and a Nespresso coffee machine. Guests enjoy the fact that the apartment has all the comforts of home and is in a perfect location. It feels fresh and inviting having recently been redecorated. I invite you to come and see for yourselves.

Canneto is famous for its ancient olive tree, a pleasant walk from the apartment. There are many small villages to explore nearby including Farfa (famous for its ancient abbey) and Fara Sabina, a hilltop town. You will find guide books and local information in the apartment. I live in the apartment downstairs (the house is a 2 storey detached ) and am happy to give you any hints and suggestions for exploring the area.

The village has 2 grocery stores, 2 bars, a butcher, a Post Office and friendly locals!

The Fara Sabina railway station is a 10-15 minute drive away. Trains go regularly to Roma Tiburtina (40 mins), Ostiense, Tuscolano or Trastevere with links to the Rome underground from Roma Tiburtina. There is comprehensive information in the apartment regarding local walks and visiting the local area and Rome.

Cyclists are very welcome. The area is perfect for this sport with quiet roads, plenty of hills and amazing vistas. If you bring your bike on the plane or train I will arrange collection of your luggage for you so that you can cycle to the property.

Casa Fagiolina is a joy to come home to after a day exploring Rome or the surrounding area. Peace, birdsong, cicadas, a glass of wine on the terrace....bliss!

Guest Access

Your own large terrace, full access to the garden and private enclosed parking.

Interaction with Guests

I work in the Travel industry so am often away from home. If I am here I will be a discrete presence but always on hand if you should need anything. My home is your home. If absent, you will have any assistance you need from me before and during your stay by phone or email.

The Neighborhood

This is authentic, off-the-beaten-track Italy, barely touched by tourism. I love the contrast between city and countryside. After a day buzzing around Rome this is the perfect retreat.

Getting Around

A car is necessary. The train station at Fara Sabina is less than 15 minutes' drive away, from where trains go to Rome every 15 minutes on weekdays and every 30 minutes at weekends.

Other Things to Note

If you search for this property on Google Street View it does not appear and the location that does is very inaccurate and even off-putting! I have reported the inaccuracy to Google Maps but doubt they will return to this location in a hurry. The location is rural but not isolated. There are hills behind and a beautiful view in front. Any questions about the location? ?Please get in touch.
