THE PUTRA VILLA: Stunning private big one bedroom villa with large bathroom and kitchen for people looking to stay for a little while. Surrounded by rice fields with two porches for the classic Ubud outdoor living. Comes with hot water, wifi, full time staff for daily cleaning and maintenance. Large porches with great lighting in front and back. Kitchen to cook up whatever you want. Free drinking water, tea, and coffee the whole time--there is a great water filter in the kitchen so you can take a break from all of those plastic bottles.
The pool is shared between the five houses and is very lovely. It's all part of a larger complex with friendly expats from around the world and an awesome Balinese landlord that manages the place great. You will feel right at home, and there is 24 hour security. I also include a local cell phone with important numbers programmed in like restaurants that deliver, drivers, our lovely massage lady, and emergency calls. It's all to make your stay as easy and happy as possible here. I can arrange airport pick up and drop off for you. Ideal for artists, musicians, couples, yogis, travelers, and people looking for a little break from it all. LGBTQ+ friendly.
Nyuh Kuning is a wonderful, quite village located right behind the Ubud Sacred Monkey Forest. No one trying to sell you things or offering "transport". Just a relaxed happy village. Nyuh Kuning was also voted Bali's cleanest village in 2012, and has twice been voted Indonesia's most beautiful village. It is about 1km from "downtown" Ubud. This way you get a quiet village experience but are in striking distance of the shopping and restaurants Ubud is famous for. It's about a 1.5km walk to the Yoga Barn for those coming here for yoga. There is a motorbike here for rent.
There are lots of restaurants and cultural activities located here. Our Villa is a hidden gem in the rice fields with wonderful, helpful staff. It is located right across the street from Bumi Sehat Birthing Clinic for those interested in volunteering or visiting there. There is a dog and some cute cats here, so it's good if you like animals.
Looking forward to meeting you :)
The pool, the gardens, the view, and happiness!
I lived in this compound for four years before moving into a new house close by so I could foster more puppies, but I am often around and always just one phone call away to fix anything or chat. I love to meet new people and share what I know about Ubud and Bali so you can have a fun and unique time here. The staff is there all day to attend to anything you need and the landlord keeps the place secure 24 hours a day.
Nyuh Kuning is the best neighborhood in Ubud! It is often voted the cleanest in Indonesia, and it has successfully kept it's traditional core while adapting to tourism and hotel businesses here.
This is directly on the other side of the Monkey Forest from town, which gives you a break from Ubud's busy downtown.
The pool is unattended and has no barrier so it's not a good fit here for little children.
Sue's place is gorgeous and the compound it is in is stunning. It's a short walk from town through the monkey forest. We used Sue's driver Oka for lots of sightseeing and can highly recommend him. He is very pleasant, speaks great English and knows all the best sites.
The reservation was canceled 53 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Really enjoyed our stay at Loka Pala villas. We wanted to relax (nothing energetic) and to leave things unplanned, to enjoy some peace, and be a short walk away from things so that we could get some incidental exercise in. Ticks those boxes - villa is spacious enough to hang out at all day and pool is perfect for jumping in and out of anytime, the great staff just work their housekeeping around you, D'Waroeng (delicious) and Soka Home Kitchen are only 5 minutes (strolling) away for drop in meals, laundries & sundry shops conveniently, beautiful peaceful surrounds (Nyuh Kuning is gorgeous, and Loka Pala's garden is so serene!). And Ubud is a perfect 20 minute stroll away. Mobile phone and torch were really thoughtful and helpful provisions, loved the great books stacked at the dressing table. With all that one can easily spend the whole two weeks just in Nyuh Kuning if you're really looking for some solitude and full on slothfulness. But if not - it's always easy to organise a ride into town (Wayan Oka & Wayan Adi are so professional). We're looking forward to coming back.
Nice, clean and safe accommodation with modern furnished private villas. Big room with tow nice terraces to the pool and the rice fields.
Room has no air conditioning, so be prepared to have opened doors in the nights.
It's a 15-20 min walk to Ubud main road passing the monkey forest. Cab home in the night is approx. 40 K (2,50 €). Tell you driver to bring you to "Bumi Sehat hospital". That's a little hospital just in front of the little street going to the villas every taxi driver knows.
In total it's a perfect quiet place to stay in Ubud. If you take a cab in the night, location is totally ok. No need to stay in the centre ob Ubud.
The Villas (we ended up staying in both) were spotless, characterful and a total haven. Quite a long walk from Ubud (but fine if you get a motorbike for 5dollars a day) and in a GORGEOUS walled off town called Nyuh Kuning near the monkey forest, we felt absolutely privileged to be 'living' in this part of town. The pool is such a bonus in the very humid heat of Ubud (prob not as bad as the rest of Bali but still hardwork). The only problem is you won't want to leave! The room was cleaned daily and the grounds were lush green, peaceful (despite others living in around 4-5 other villas closeby) and stunningly decorated. It was nice to have the extra seating on both sides of the villa and inside. SO MUCH lounging possibilities it was almost overwheling. Sue was extremely helpful, communicative, full of great advice and the perfect host. This was the jewel in our crown of a holiday. Highly recommended.
Sue was a lovely host, even answering questions before I booked. She also helped arrange transport from the airport which was really nice. As there is no formal "check in" area, it was lovely of Sue to come to the villa to greet me shortly after I arrived and offer any help I may need. She also made time to chat with me and offer suggestions of areas to visit while in Ubud, which I appreciated. The villa itself was lovely and located off the main village road among beautiful grounds with a pool and big Ganesh statue leading up to the door. The room was large and simple, with everything you need, including a small kitchen outside. Their were two friendly little kittens who came into my room to visit each day- I didn't mind at all as I'm a cat person ;-)
As for location, Nyuh Kuning village was clean, quiet and locals were friendly. It was wonderful to tour the Bumi Sehat birthing centre and see the amazing work they do (it's just across the street from the villa). I made friends with those running the local Warung too and they were so nice (not to mention delicious food!) The village is located about a 25 minute walk into the centre of Ubud. During the day walking through the monkey forest pathway was no problem at all and the monkeys kept to themselves but after dark I felt much more comfortable taking a taxi or motorbike in from town, and if you take a taxi its about a 5 minute walk from the street along a very dark path to the villa so bring a flashlight, especially if travelling alone-or better yet, a motorbike can drive you right to the door! Though I never actually saw security on the grounds after dark I was assured the property was monitored...That being said it was safe as I had no problems during my stay. It was mostly very quiet which was lovely, especially to sit out on the patio overlooking the rice fields and watch the fireflies (with the exception of a couple late & loud social nights had by the neighbours which was difficult to escape the sounds being so close with the villas in a family style compound). Overall it was a lovely stay and if you enjoy being away from the business of central Ubud, it's a great location!
Sue. ( a darling) has 78 reviews. I cannot add anything original to mine, so feel it's all been said.
One thing that has not is the chatting to the local Gods that I hear right now at 8:00 am.
If you do not come here you miss out.
What a gorgeous little spot in a lovely village. Although we never met Sue personally, she was very professional and kind in her emails. She left us a few ice cold beers in our fridge to compensate for some afternoon construction sounds, very much aporeciated. The pool was goegeous, the neighbours were lovely, the cat shared the villa with us generously. :-). But the grumpy dog did try to snap at my husband. Guess he's not a fan of canadians. We only left this place because it was a kittle remote without a scooter. Very happy with our stay, thanks again!!
Sue was AWESOME ¡! She was really attentive to any questions we had, lent us her motorbike for our stay, along with the villa's rice field views made us not want to leave. The village is in the best location away from the hustle of UBUD, a true cultural experience.
A wonderful and relaxing stay. Staff were friendly, the room was kept clean and Sue was super prompt and diligent in communication to emails. Thanks! Definitely inspired me to come back to Bali.
Highly recommend the Yoga Barn for great 7am flow classes and 'Clear' cafe for incredible organic food.
