Our 1910 Craftsman home offers private garden patios, two extra large bedrooms, and separate entrances for your convenience. Our lovely neighborhood is steps away from Central Park, shops, restaurants, bus, train, and BART underground transit lines.
Our 1909 Craftsman-style Home has a 2 bedroom garden apartment suite with its own entrance and access to outdoor garden patio. The large bathroom has Jacuzzi tub and separate stall shower. We are located in a nice neighborhood a few blocks walk to the park, shops and restaurants, as well as bus, train, and BART underground to the delights of San Francisco.
The great advantage of our home is its central location. Our community is positioned in the middle of everything. We are about halfway between San Francisco and Silicon Valley; near the SFO airport on the beautiful San Francisco Peninsula close to wonderful and stylish cities like Burlingame, San Mateo, Los Altos, Palo Alto, Silicon Valley, and Stanford University.
Our guests may rent a car to enjoy all the delights and fascinations of the San Francisco Bay Area, including the Redwoods at Muir Valley, or the wonderful beaches of Pacifica, Half Moon Bay, Santa Cruz, Monterrey, Carmel, and Big Sur. Public transit by bus and train is about five blocks walk. San Bruno is home to the remodeled Tanforan Shopping Center (the local BART underground station), YouTube headquarters, and (website hidden), and Microsoft affiliates. Tours and day-trips to Yosemite, Lake Tahoe, and Napa-Sonoma Wine Country are available in San Francisco.
We are seven minutes by taxi from SFO Airport. Within reach of a short taxi ride there are many wonderful walks along the Crystal Springs lakes, along the San Francisco Bay shoreline in Milbrae and Burlingame, or along the Bay in Foster City by the old sloughs and reed marshes full of albatros, cranes, ducks and wildlife. Fifteen minutes away, over the hill to Pacifica Ocean Pier and Linda Mare surfing beach give a grand impression of the California Pacific coast. The new tunnel will soon be open to the world renown "Mavericks" surfing event, and delightful Half Moon Bay fishing fleet harbor, beaches, and sanctuaries.
For those who like stunning architecture and urban landscaping, Burlingame and San Mateo offer a wide array of styles from all over the world thanks to the amazing carpenters and builders who came to rebuild San Francisco after the Great Quake.
Our property was built during the horse and buggy days -it has no garage or driveway. There is ample parking on city streets. The proximity and convenience of our home is exceptional.

Please ask us concerning running more than one load.

Thanks, Nuala & Tom
Thomas and nula were great hosts . They gave us a map of the area and even helped out with a ride to the airport when we left . I'll defentally be looking them up on my next trip out west .
Thanks so much for Nuala and Tom's hospitality; we enjoy your beautiful house very much, very quiet environment and cozy beds, fancy and gorgeous garden I've ever seen during our trip;I appreciate Tom's advice and Nuala's gift of Taquila flower,I enjoy it very much and already water them in next stop of LA,if there is a chance,we'll come again next time;Thank you again!
Thanks very much to Nuala for a great stay in their clean and spacious garden apartment. We felt very at home here and communication and check-in was a breeze! Frig was stocked with bread and other breakfast items, super helpful to get us started each morning (not having to go out saves time). The beds have heating pads, and I loved them so much, we might have to get some for our home!! We've been to San Fran a few times and this time we wanted to explore out and around the city. So this was the perfect base for our adventures. We ended up going to San Pedro Valley Park, Half Moon Bay, Muir Woods and Sausalito. Short stay, but we'll definitely stay here again if we're in the area. And wouldn't hesitate to recommend to friends and family. Thanks again for a lovely stay!

We check in at about 9pm.They waiting for us and help us design the travel route. If we have chance to San francisco,we want to stay in their house again.Thank you.
Nuala and Tom are wonderfully friendly and helpful. Once we arrived to the garden apartment we were welcome with warmth and their kindness. Even when we arrived on Valentine's Day, Nuala and Tom patiently took their time to go over the tourist locations and housing amenity with us in details. The neighborhood is very safe and convenient to walk around with BART station right around the corner. In addition to the added convenience, their garden is just absolutely beautiful and relaxing! Even though the location is close to the airport it is very quiet at night so easy to fall asleep even for those of you who may have insomnia. In general, we are very pleased with our stay here and we would definitely recommended to you as well :-)
Nuala and her husband were perfect hosts -- they met us when we arrived, showed us around the apartment, made sure we had all of the local information we needed, and then disappeared. The apartment was a true value. Very clean, plenty of room, wonderfully equipped kitchen, spacious bathroom, and a lovely garden that was perfect for sitting out in the sun. We were playing in a bridge tournament during our stay that was just four miles away in a Hyatt that wanted to charge us $450 a night. We were much, much happier in our apartment. We'll look forward to returning next year.
It was lovely. Nuala and Tom were very hospitable, kind and helpful. The accommodations were spacious, clean and neat. Nuala went above and beyond to be sure I was taken care of in all aspects. The gardens are lovely and I was grateful to have such a peaceful setting to unwind after a very stressful day. Thank you! I will come back if in need in south SF

Nuala and Tom are from Ireland and Germany. Tom writes books about ancient culture, and Nuala enjoys going to ancient sites as part of her visits to Peru, Egypt, Greece, and her homeland in Ireland. Obviously Nuala enjoys travel, but she loves gardening above all.
Most of her flowers, plants and shrubs are slipped or cultivated from seed. Tom says he enjoys the flowers, and that his wife's real talent is provincial cooking. She can invent and create anything from a brief description of a dish.
