Enjoy a large private bedroom, a full kitchen, bathroom, living room, and laundry facilities. Private entrance in the back of a single family home in the quiet and accessible neighborhood of Twin Peaks.

The Space

The living room provides space to relax after your travels and busy days exploring the city. The TV in the living room is equipped with 80 cable channels and a DVD player. A few select DVDs, a collection of vintage books and magazines, board games, and complimentary WiFi will provide lots of entertainment. The comfortable sofa can also accommodate an extra guest.

The bedroom boasts a warm and inviting king bed with designer sheets, down comforter, and pillow top mattress. A window offers a charming view to a steep San Francisco street. A TV with a DVD/VHS player is perfect for a cozy night.

The kitchen offers all you'll need for cooking a meal. In the kitchen you'll find a coffee maker, toaster, refrigerator and freezer, and a microwave.

The bathroom features a remodeled full-size shower and multiple soft towels are in the closet.

Guest Access

The entrance to the unit is located in the backyard and is private. Feel free to enjoy your morning coffee or afternoon wine at the picnic table on nice days.

There is a free washer and dryer located in the garage that is used for host's private storage.

There is ample, free street parking within a block of the house. There is usually never an issue with finding a place for your car close to the house. Street cleaning is every other week from 12-2 PM.

Interaction with Guests

We live in the separate upstairs apartment of the house. We love to welcome our guests upon their arrival and are always available to answer your questions about San Francisco.

The Neighborhood

Twin Peaks is the highest natural point in the city. Breathtaking views of the city skyline, the Golden Gate Bridge, the Bay and the Pacific Ocean are just a five minute walk from the house. The beautiful Glen Canyon with all its wildlife is right across the street.

It is also a geographically central location. It is easy to access all neighborhoods either in a car, on public transit, or on foot. Ask for a walking map!

There are two large grocery stores less than a ten minute walk away. You will also find cafes and drugstores for any thing you might need.

Getting around

The private apartment is easily accessed by 3 major bus lines that can take you to many neighborhoods in a short time. The Castro is a 7 minute bus ride, or on a nice day, a 20 minute stroll that offers sweeping views of the city. At the Castro St stop the subway can take you downtown in about 10 minutes. The Mission, Haight/Ashbury, Cole Valley, Inner Sunset, West Portal, and Glen Park are also quite easy to get to by the other bus lines or on foot.

  • We enjoyed our stay at Kevin's place. We chose it because it was not too far from the Golden Gate Park where we wanted to take our kids to. It was comfy and welcoming. Bedroom was well stocked with sheets and extra pillow. The large King size bed was clean and comfortable. Bathroom had clean towels, shampoo and body wash. Kitchen was fully equipped and organized. We mostly just used the refrigerator and microwave, but it was nice to know there were dishes and utensils and spices if we needed. We also enjoyed a board game before bedtime. Thanks Kevin for a pleasant stay.

  • My stay here was amazing, from my first booking to check out Kevin was very helpful, the house was very cleaned and it was in a nice quiet neighborhood. The bus was very close to catch to the sub to go down town. I would recommend staying and and will definitely be back. Thank you kevin

  • Our days in SF were wonderful, the Kevins house was perfect. Great location, clean, bright and spacious. We were a couple with two children. Hope I have not bothered much with the noise of children. Unfortunately our English was not very good for me to talk more, but Kevin and his partner were very attentive to everything we need.

  • That was our first experience with airbnb and we were lucky to have Kevin our host. We had wonderful stay.

Beautiful apartment with quiet outside terrace. We loved rare pictures of San Francisco on the walls and a lot of tiny details in interior. Apartment has everything you need including kingsize bed, washing machine and dryer, all the kitchen appliances etc.

The big advantage of this place is its location. It's a bit cold and foggy sometimes but Twin Peaks provides you the very best view of San Francisco you can have and there is no problem with finding parking space even night time.

    Strongly recommended.

  • it was my second experience with airbnb and it couldnt have been better. not only the apartment is in a great location in san francisco, close to everything and with free parking outside the house, but also the hosts made evrything possible to make my stay as pleasant as possible.

got there when they were at work and had no trouble getting to the apartment. kevin was always reachable. the apartment was beyond clean. super confy and they had left the heating on for me. great shower! fully equipped kitchen.

They even invited me over to meet them upstairs and they were lovely. generous. clever and very cultured. overall a great experience in the bay city.

if im ever back i wouldnt hesitate to stay there again. thank you!!!

  • The Top of the City One Bedroom was a very convenient and comfortable place to stay. My boyfriend and I stayed for one month while apartment shopping for a permanent place.

    Pros:
-Completely private apartment on bottom floor (Kevin and Kenneth live on the top floor and you won't see them unless you seek them out--in which case they are lovely to talk to)
    -Free laundry and wifi
-Stocked with plates, utensils, pots and pans, etc.
    -Comfortable king size bed
    -Luxurious sheets and towels
-Charming, eclectic decorations (very San Francisco)
-A nice bottle of wine and chocolate to greet us!

    Cons:
-Takes about 40 mins to get to downtown SF (financial district)
-Apartment is cold if you're there in the late fall/winter, as there are only two space heaters
    -Dim lighting
    -Apartment layout is strange

Overall, the pros significantly outweigh the cons, which is why I give it four stars!

  • I've had a fantastic stay. The apartment was nicely decorated, but not opulent. Everything was in good working order. The place gets a little cold (as does all of Twin Peaks), but there are space heaters that work really fast.

I stayed a longer time and Kevin was in constant touch to make sure I had all the comfort I needed. It was the next best thing to being at home away from home. Thanks!

  • When we checked in at Kevin's apartment we immediately felt comfortably at home. He was the perfect host, always available and great communication and advice. It was a professional, easy, safe experience. The apt had everything we could possibly need, incl easy parking outside. A brilliant first time Airbnb experience. Would definitely stay again!

  • We arrived in San Fransisco on apparently one of the warmest days they have had. Kevin was there to greet us and to explain things to us. We were invited by them to a private party but were so exhausted by the end of the first day, we could not attend. We were also were greeted by a bottle of wine and choclate which we did enjoy. The apartment is perfectly located to transportation, that we did use all the time. The outside space was delightful and the bed very comfortable. All in all a great experience.
