Sunny, Large Mission Room Near BART

Apartment - Private room · Woodward St, San Francisco, CA 94103, United States

The Space

The Apartment
This sunny and large private room is a part of a three bedroom apartment. The apartment has a full kitchen (microwave, coffee machine, oven, stove, refrigerator, toaster, juicer, blender, etc.) and a washer and dryer. You can use basically anything. I also have detergent, which you can use for free. The room is very large, clean and the sheets are fresh and changed around 5pm-7pm on the day of your arrival. The bed is a queen size bed. There will be freshly washed towels for you. There is a desk for you to use with a chair. The house has one printer, which you can use. I also have an iron and dryer for your use as well. There are additional sheets, blankets, and towels, for you if you would like available in the hallway closet.

Internet
There is a high-speed wired connection and wifi (50 mb download speeds). It is very fast and has been very dependable.

Location, Transportation, and Parking
Our location is very accessible because it is in the very center of San Francisco. We are 2 blocks away (6 minute walk) from the 16th St. BART station, which offers a thirty minute direct ride to San Francisco Airport. This is There are many bus routes that are right outside the apartment. A taxi from the airport takes about 20 minutes. There is free street parking available (with street cleaning limitations), and the apartment is near the freeway for those who need to get on Highway 101. I have detailed directions for you about parking, which should make it a lot easier for you. There is also a gas station on the other side of the same block.

Arrival and Departure
Since I travel often for work, I may or may not be here right when you arrive. There is an easy way for you to access the house even when I am away--I'll give you a key lock code that gives you access to the house key. In order to make your stay easy, if there are no guests staying directly before you or after you, I want you to be able to arrive and leave when you would like that day. If there is a guest leaving on the day of your arrival, I will ask them to leave at a reasonable hour (mid-afternoon), and ask you to do the same if someone else is arriving on the day of your departure (this is not that common, actually). You can absolutely drop your bag off early in the morning and roam around, but you may not have access to the room until later that day--this is so you can roam around without carrying around bags if you arrive very early in the morning. Again, I want to make it easiest for all people, and I want your stay here to be easy.

The Neighborhood (and Safety)
While the Mission area is alive and busy, my street is fairly quiet. There are hundreds of great restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance, and many bars if you want to go out at night. Coffee shops are everywhere, and there are many nearby grocery stores. The Safeway is a 10-15 minute walk away and FoodsCo and Rainbow Grocery are even closer (5 minute walk). Since the location is very accessible, it is, in my opinion, and many of my guests', an ideal location to access various tourist attractions. We are also a 10 minute walk from Delores Park, from which you can have a view of the entire city. I am privileged in that I have never felt unsafe walking around late at night as a male, but I also had two female housemates who came home late at night often because of work (they lived here for two years), and they never had a problem coming home by themselves (late at night). I'm sure they took precautions late at night as they would in any busy city area (walking on main streets, etc.), but they never had any negative incident occur to them during their stay here.

I am a pretty easygoing host. Ask me anything you'd like, and I'll get back to you as soon possible.

  • Great experience with an excellent host! This was my first airbnb stay. I was moving across country for work and wanted a nice quiet place to stay while I got up to speed in the new job and acclimated to the bay area. My stay with Yongjun (YJ) provided exactly what I needed. Would strongly recommend to anyone else looking to stay in the bay area.

YJ went out of his way to make my stay as pleasant as possible. As an example, he went out and purchased a new high-end coffee pot because I mentioned I normally brewed a pot of coffee in the morning. YJ also provided a lot information about the mission district, including good restaurants and shops.

The room and apartment are quite nice. The bed was comfortable and I alway slept well. The room was spacious and allowed me to store a lot of stuff I brought across the country as I transitioned into my new permanent housing. Was able to get some work done in the evenings with the blazing fast internent. Cooked a few meals using the fully-loaded kitchen and it was great to a have a washer and dryer in the apartment.

Lastly, I was pleasantly surprised by the Mission district. Had heard it was a crummy area and possibly even dangerous. This was not my experience at all. While there are numerous homeless people (just like everywhere else in SF) there is also lots of new construction, including high end condos, restaurants, and shops. So much is in walking distance and the area is generally cheaper than many other places in SF. I liked the area so much, I'm now leasing another place in the mission for the longterm. Would recommend you check the area out.

  • Pleasantly surprised with how nice of an Airbnb experience this was.

  • I was in the city for an extended stay due to a project for work and Yj was a perfect host. First of all he was a great communicator. He gave full set of instructions on how to get there and how to get in without him being there. Later when he did arrive, he was very open and welcoming, giving me tips on good restaurants to check out and offering me some of his soup he just made. I found him very interesting as well, when I heard more about his entrepreneurial projects and start up.

The mission is a great location. I would recommend it to anyone interested in getting a real feel of San Francisco. Packed full of restaurants, vintage stores, hipster cafés and bars it definitely will keep you occupied.

The room was great as well. The bed was comfortable and having the extra couch in the room never made it feel like I was stuck on the bed. I loved having the extra monitor as well, which made it much better to watch movies and online tv shows comfortably. The bathroom was a little small, but the kitchen made up for it because It was chick full of appliances including a juicer and slow cooker!

Overall my experience here was a great one and I will stay here again the next time I have a work trip in SF.

  • The place is close to all amenities: food Bart and bars. Room size was large enough for three people. Roommates were friendly and the host was very helpful.

  • Great Room, Great Location, Great Host

Had a fantastic stay in Yongjun's room. He was quick with responding to my questions and when I arrived had a nice clean room and treated me to some delicious fresh juice from his juicer. Would recommend this place to my friends and would easily stay here again.

  • My stay with Yongjun was fantastic. I spent a month in the house and became friends with YJ and loved living in a corner of the mission. A quick 5 minute walk from just about anything: bars, restaurants, The kitchen was always clean, and the bathroom was pretty good. It's not a Four Seasons, but this is airbnb. The benefit is a friendly neighbor and a homey feel. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

  • Yongjun and his roommate were really nice, everything went smooth and I had a good time staying there. It's a nice apartment but you should be aware that you sign up for a flat share not for a 5 star hotel - so expect a flat share with the usual limitations. The bathroom could be cleaner (bring flip flops) and the Window in Yongjun's room could not be opened so I had to work around this.

Also make sure that you know what the Mission District is and that it's not Pac Heights ;-).

If you set you expectations right it's a perfect stay with great people.

Inside joke: Even though Yongjun thinks that he's the weirdest guy I ever met I must let him down: He is NOT! ;-)

About
I am a very easy going host. I am midwesterner from southern Indiana, went to college out on the east coast, worked abroad in Southeast Asia post-graduation, studied abroad for a masters degree in Ireland, and moved to San Francisco a few years ago. I love traveling, running, and I am generally away from San Francisco once per month.
