Fantastic location for visiting hills, beaches, wildlife, history. Chalet very comfortable - nestling in Lovely gardens - and next to restaurant serving delicious, wholesome food all day. Lorna and Billy very helpful with local info and tips. As a light sleeper I was worried about the noise from the road from reading previous reviews, but it didn't bother me at all.

Lovely chalet within the beautiful area of Kerry! Very relaxed and welcoming environment. My parents are I stayed here and it was perfect for what we needed - close enough to explore the local villages and stunning coast lines, thanks again

Our stay at Lorna's chalet was wonderful! It was the perfect location for exploring the Dingle Peninsula. The chalet was very comfortable, and filled with many fun, quirky touches. The grounds and gardens were lovely, and there were friendly dogs and cats stopping by to say hello. The kitchen in the chalet was perfect for two, but we had breakfast at Lorna's Pheonix Restaurant each morning-- the food was delcious, fresh, and filled with tasty herbs and veggies from the garden. The chalet is a great place to stay if you want to explore the region, or if you just want to curl up with a book. We would definitely stay there again!

Great place in the middle of nowhere. Pubs, oil, groceries, 5 min by car. Beautiful garden and cosy organic restaurant. Road just 3meters away windows of the chalet, some noise at night but no big trouble. Good location for those who want to enjoy dingle's and ring of Kerry's sights and atmosphere. The Phoenix people are friendly and helpful.

Lorna is a teacher of Egyptian dance, a vegetarian and wholefood cook a short story writer[ author of The Phoenix Cookbook "A Culinary Adventure" and a youth and community worker. The Phoenix was established twenty years ago by her and her husband Billy who is a collector of jazz music. The house is a renovated farmhouse full of books and musical intruments, an open fire, solar panels, natural stone walls, hemp plaster and unusual decorations and antiques from Lornas world travels. The garden is a mixture of wild and cultivated plants and secret places to sit and contemplate as well as a glass house and a fantastic vegetable patch. Lorna and her staff are always ready to spend time with guests on any thing from exciting activities in the area, to identifying the rare herbs and plants in the gardens or discussing food, world travels, films, books and art. Lorna lived in Switzerland for many years and speaks Swiss german and could even give an impromptu dance performance at the end of the evening.
