I try to do it short. Andres and his wife had been one of the most friendly and helpfull host on our 90 day journey so far. He picked us up in Pana and brought us back again when we left. San Antonio is the most friendly City we have been visit in all central america, just walking around in the small town were everybody welcome you and even invite you into there house. Its easy to get around there as well, by boat or Pickuptruck. Andres is ofen go to Pana and gladly take you along. The view from the terrasse is stunning and maybe the best spot to watch the sun going Down behind volcano San Pedro.
There are only a couple of places to eat in town but you dont need it Andres' wife make the best food, and happely prepare a meal for you for an absolut fair price.
We loved staying here at Casa Colonial and highly recommend it, we Will be back some Day :-).
After a month of seeing an awesome view of the lake every morning. I must add that Andreas was a very good host helped in anyw way he could. Had any suggestions for us to do and to be careful of.
His wife was very good cook, we never had a problem with her cooking. Bring ear plugs if you want to sleep in do to a rooster near by.
There was always almost hot water , warm enough to have a good show.
All in all we had a great stay. Certainly worth the money I paid.
Andreas is a very kind, genuine, and helpful host. He helped us with many things, including currency exchange guidelines, getting around, etc.
Thank you Andreas! :-)
We had a fantastic time celebrating the New Year on Lake Atitlan staying with Andreas and Yadira. Andreas was a wealth of information regarding local culture and was a delightful host. Yadira was an AMAZING cook and made dinner for us several times for a reasonable fee. The room was clean and very comfortable with a stunning lake view. We only wish we could have stayed longer!
We absolutely loved staying at Andreas place. From the deck off your room there is the most amazing view I have ever seen. Their home is beautiful, clean and comfortable. Andreas was very helpful in how to get around and what to see. His house is not located in a touristy area but that was part of the charm. There were only 2 small things that were not so great but they didn't even matter much compared to how beautiful it was. One thing is the wifi is not very good, which shouldn't even matter when you are in such an amazing place. The other is that it is very loud a night with the roosters, dogs, and fireworks from the village. Neither of these things are Andreas fault but they should be mentioned. Just bring ear plugs. And did I mention, the view is amazing!
Excellent place to stay. Andreas was a great host! He and his wife were very attentive and overall great people. I recommend for people to stay here. The view of the lake during sunset was great.
Our time here was amazing. Andreas and Yadira are great hosts, very friendly and always willing to help in any way. Their house is just as beautiful as the view from their terrace. The neighborhood is peaceful and the neighbors are friendly as well. I will be back soon!
This is truly a spectacular place. The house is spacious, spotless, tasteful, built by Andreas over the past decade or so. You have a separate apartment (FYI: bed is very firm) that opens directly onto a beautiful, covered wood deck, looking out over a vast expanse that takes in the whole lake and the volcanoes beyond. The town of San Antonio is quiet and authentic, still relatively unpopulated by tourists or ex-pats, though you can easily reach other towns by car or boat. Andreas is a helpful and gracious host. His wife Yadira is a terrific cook and for a small fee will cook you delicious meals (she made a tomato-garlic chicken with mashed plantains and avocado that blew my mind). Of the different places I visited around Lake Atitlán, the most amazing view of the lake was from Andreas' deck.
Amazing! The pictures here don't come close to showing the true beauty of this home. The house itself is perfect, it had everything we needed and was super clean. But the very best part were the breath taking views!!
On top of it all we were able to enjoy home cooked meals on the balcony overlooking the lake and volcanoes. Each meal was delicious!
It was also a very short walking distance to the boat launch which made traveling the lake super easy.
Would highly recommend this location to anyone looking for a place to relax and enjoy nature.
Great place, great people
