The space

This lovely apartment is located next to Campo San Bortolo, a famous square located right between Saint Mark’s square and Rialto bridge. Piazza San Marco is probably the best known spot in town, and it is so important amongst locals that it is said that everyone who lives in Venice passes beyond San Marco at least once a day. The wonderful square in front of the cathedral, full of children who feed the birds, souvenir sellers and cafés with live music (some of which are probably the most expensive coffee bars in Italy!), is definitely a must for those who visit marco Polo's town. As you walk around it, don't forget to have a look at the Palazzo Ducale (Duke's Palace) and its Ponte dei Sospiri (Bridge of Sighs), which joins the courtroom with the ancient jail. For those who are not scared of heights, we recommend climbing the tower, which overlooks the entire town

This apartment is located on the second floor (lift unavailable). It has been recently renovated and sports numerous typical features, such as Venetian flooring and exposed wooden beamed ceilings.
The apartment is composed by a small living room, two double bedrooms (with a Queen size bed each), a kitchen and a bathroom with a shower.
The apartment includes: air conditioning (from middle May on) 2 TV sets (TV only in Italian), a microwave and an iron.

Interaction with guests

Dear Guests,

Wishing you an unforgettable stay in Venice, we would like to tell you that spending a holiday in an apartment is not only a special AND UNIQUE experience in complete freedom and independence according to your TIME AND WISHES, but it is also a way to share with us, resident, the same inconveniences that are normal in our everyday life here in Venice.
All the houses are in a historical context that does not have any periphery, thus there are very few recent buildings in the city.
This means that some small annoyances you may find unusual are normal features of the city and we are sharing the same with you, for example the lack of a lift, or little light in apartments located on lower floors, some light noise that is typical from Venetian "calli" or "canali", the presence of mosquitos being Venice a city built on the water. We understand that for someone not used to this unique city all the features above listed may seem a problem, but these are instead the peculiarity and the charm of living or spending a holiday in a place where the urban progress did not affect the natural structure of this amazing city, where everything is magic.

The unit is just as it appears online. The common area is a bit small, but both bedrooms are quite large. The apartment is only a few steps away from the Rialto bridge which makes this an ideal location. There is a restaurant downstairs with outdoor seating. This adds a bit of life to what would otherwise be a very quiet street. However, I never found the noise/customers downstairs to be a nuisance or to keep us up. Monica is a delight. She always answered my questions online quickly and accurately. She allowed us to check in several hours early and met us at the apartment. Everything was very easy and we felt right at home. If there is one thing I would change, it would be the shower. It is quite small and the hot water is a bit touchy but this is an issue pretty much anywhere in an older building in Italy. Thank you, Monica, for the beautiful space and excellent hospitality!

Monica is a great and clear communicator. Everything was as represented in her listing and we would not hesitate to recommend her place. The location was super convenient to everything. It was fun to stay in such a historic building right in the middle of all that we wanted to see. The beds were comfortable. It was also incredibly quiet at night, which allowed for a restful night's sleep. Thank you, Monica!

My family stayed here and we loved the location. Venice directions can sometimes be confusing (and (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN)/Apple Maps not always the most accurate); Monica's directions were spot-on for finding the apartment. The location is also very close to the Rialto vaporetto stop as well as the Alilaguna stop, which made arriving by train and leaving via the airport very convenient. The Rialto Bridge is a block away, and we would enjoy strolling by the bridge after dinner to watch the evening sky change colors over the Grand Canal. We would definitely stay here again the next time we're in Venice.

Location! Location! Location! This was a great location near major attractions but secluded enough you felt like you could get away from the crowds. That in combination with A/C and spacious rooms makes this a fabulous place to stay.

This apartment is in a great location - close to many restaurants and shops. It also has AC. Monica was extremely responsive to messages. Her representative met us at the boat dock so check in was seamless, plus, her English was very good. I definitely recommend it.
