I offer a nice loft in Barcelona's Gothic, in a very quiet street but just 2 minutes from many exciting and colorful places: Port Vell, Born, Plaça Sant Jaume, Barceloneta and Las Ramblas. The apartment is in the main a property listed as city heritage. Although in the eighteenth century was profoundly changed, this building retains the medieval structure XV century. Fully refurbished to preserve its original charm, with high ceilings and large windows have been preserved stone walls and windows and wooden beams. Amenities are fully present, air conditioning, heating, wifi, bathroom and fitted kitchen. The master bedroom is on the second level. In the lounge area there is comfortable sofa bed. In the apartment next door we have “Loft en el Gótico de Barcelona!”, also published on the web. The two together are a good option for traveling with friends together, but not mixed.
The Gothic Quarter is situated between the two most important avenues of the Old Town and Las Ramblas Via Layetana one hand, and between Plaza Catalunya and the sea on the other. This neighborhood is the heart of the old city, where stood the Roman walled city that gave birth to the current Barcelona. Your accommodation is less than 10 min. walking of almost all tourist attractions.

Fantastic location, close to bars, restaurants and minutes walk to most areas and the immediate maze of the old Barcelona. The apartment is a lovely space, maybe a little smaller than the photo, but yet beautiful and cosy. The ladder isn't a problem and adds to the charm of it all.Just note that the bathroom has a shower and not a bath like I read on another review.
Glaenzel has been a great host, right there to hand us the key with minimum fuss. Great communication. We'll def' recommend the place. Thanks Glaenzel
This a clever loft apartment in a beautiful old part of the Gothic district. The host was very accommodating. The apartment is in an active part of the old quarter ... it can be quite noisy late at night. If you are out late, this can be fine, we were not.
The bedroom and bath is up a sturdy ladder and is pictured properly in the ad, but it is a little unnerving for example to get heavy luggage to the bedroom. We would not choose this layout again, but it is personal preference. The apartment is furnished in a modern manner with sparten kitchen features. It is adequate for minimum use.
My fiance and I stayed at this magnificent place for 1 month and it was pretty comfortable to live there.
We didn't care much about the absence of the washing machine because the laundry was close to our area.
The flat is located perfectly in historical Gothic downtown between Port Vell (5 minutes walk), La Rambla (10 minutes walk) and Born area (10 minutes walk).
The apartment was designed in a very interesting way, we loved it very much. First 2 days it was pretty hart to get used to the stairs, that goes right to the bedroom and bathroom but in general it was okay.
In the late evening the apartment had it's special atmosphere with it's warm lights on. Going out on a balcony you can hear the music and people crawling form cafe to cafe, from bar to bar it also makes it's own magic atmosphere.
The window, that is right next to our apartment was some kind of a guesthouse. Every day on weekdays we saw funny grannies dancing or singing or playing cards. Don't pay much attention to them ;)
In the middle of our stay we had a small problem with the boiler. It stopped heating the water. The same day (it was around 8 pm) we called Monica and she sent a plumer. He fixed everything in one day with no extra money or worries.
The only minus was darkness. At the daytime we had little light, because the nearby building was just 2 meters away from our window, so waking up was not easy sometimes.
In general we really loved this place. If you want that spacial spanish atmosphere and looking for some well designed romantique space for your holiday you'll definitely have to stay at Monica/Glaenzel
