If you are looking for a place in Maui that is quiet, private, and has a gorgeous view, this is the one. We stayed here for 8 days and really loved it. The studio is artfully decorated and has everything that you will need. The cabin is perched on a hill with large wrap-around windows on three sides that look out to great views of ocean, forest and pasture land. The quiet and solitude are perfect. No traffic or people noise. Even though it is only a studio that has a queen bed, a full kitchen, washer & dryer, and a sitting area, it was surprisingly big enough to handle it all. It’s perfect for a couple. The area outside the cabin is very private with a gas grill, picnic table, gas fire pit, hammock, and sitting area. We have visited Hawaii many times and have found that being able to reside away from touristy areas is the way to go. No matter where you stay, you usually drive to a new beach or attraction everyday....Why not return to peace and quiet?
This cottage was a dream come true! We awoke to a huge rainbow that literally ended right below us, and lasted for 3 hours. We were there for New Year's Eve and were able to see fireworks visible throughout the communities below. The cottage is cozy while also having incredibly expansive views of the countryside. Really appreciated the washer and dryer, as well as the full size refrigerator. No mosquitos because of the mountain air, and the fog that rolls in at night. Easy to get to lots of places all around. Enjoyed Paia, Makawao, the Kula Botanical Gardens and the Lavender Farm for the couple days that we were there. We are so grateful that we rang in the New Year at this beautiful place! Thank you! Mahalo!
The cottage has a charming rustic feel from all the wood and green color of the building material to the green tree and grass around it. At night, fog hangs and it feels like a James Bond or Sherlock Holmes novel. The place is out of the way from the touristy area and has a quiet, pleasant atmosphere. The black cat Snoopy was very friendly. We also saw a white goose and a black duck.
We had a small hiccup finding the cottage as we came after dark and the way up to the cottage wasn't lit (and somewhat hilly). Otherwise, in daytime, it was very easy to find.
