  • The guest house is in the perfect location if you wanna go to SXSW. It's just off South Congress (where you have plenty of dining and entertainment options) and just 30 min by foot from the Convention Center. Communication with James before the arrival was fast and easy. James has been a great host making sure I had all I needed.

  • James was a real easy and helpful host. His house is perfect for a single person or couple. I would highly recommend it. It's a detached house in the back, which makes it very private. I plan on staying here next time

  • This is a great, quiet space. I was staying in town for a week so something like this was a perfect alternative to hotel. James was always communicative and quick to respond to any questions.

  • This was my first try with AirBnB, and I was quite pleasantly surprised. The property was very clean and private and within easy 5 minute walking distance to South Congress. James was a very attentive and friendly host. Had some brews in the fridge upon my arrival and allowed me the use of his bike. Highly recommended.

  • This place is a little gem. The neighbourhood is quiet and beautiful with easy access to South Congress and downtown. The guest house was an absolutely perfect getaway from the craziness of SXSW. It is clean, simply furnished, with big french doors that lead out to a beautiful yard. James is a fantastic host; friendly and very accommodating. I spent a couple of mornings working from the picnic table in the yard which beats working from a hotel room or conference center any day!

About
Hello there. I have lived off and on in Austin since 1998 and have owned a house here since 2005. Work has taken me away to other cities like NYC and DC but I always come back here. I particularly enjoy the laid back quality of life and accessible cultural and music scene here. I work for a social venture which provides basic financial services to the unbanked. Before that I worked for an NGO called the World Economic Forum which had me traveling fairly extensively overseas. With what free time I have, I do a bit of running, gardening, playing guitar and piano, and reading.
