Rustic tradtional accom. in Ružiná!

House - Private room · Cintorínska, Ružiná, Banská Bystrica Region 98552, Slovakia

The Space

A rustically styled double bedroom in our family house is dedicated to hosts from all over the world who would like to experience nice and warm-hearted Slovakian family atmosphere. The bedroom has en-suite bathroom and is equipped with reconstructed original wooden furniture from the beginning of the 20th century which was typical for this region hundred years ago.
Ružiná is mostly sought after in summer when people can enjoy at the highest our dominant – large lake also with name Ružiná. It is far only 200 meters from your room and you can use it for any water sport e.g. swimming, windsurfing, diving, sailing as well as sunbathing or fishing. If you are of that kind you can join a discotheque, an occasional live concert or to have a pint in one of the many beer gardens. Another must do is to explore the hilly area by which Ružiná is surrounded, there are many interesting hiking paths which would take you to the hilltops with exhilarating view over lake and other surroundings.
In the price of your stay, there is invitation to have traditional Slovakian meals with us, my mother is a great cook :), also there is plenty of different home grown fruit and vegetables available for you at no charge.
After your stay in Ružiná I am offering a 20 per cent off special offer for your stay in my one bedroom apartment in Bratislava, please check my other listing.
Feel free to contact me about any additional information, I will be happy to respond. Hope to see you in Ružiná!

  • Nice and cozy place with a great host! The location had decent public transport connections and it's really close to the train station as well.

  • Jan is a great host. He gave us a house manual with very useful tipps and also offered us delicious pastries, and provided us with other services.
The flat is awesome, the bathroom is even a bit bigger than on the photos.
Bratislava is a very welcoming city, where you feel safe at night.
There are enough things to visit for a reasonable stay and the flat's location is very appropriate for reaching the main sites.
We will definitely come back !

  • Jan is a great host! He was waiting for me at the tram stop to show me to the apartment. He was very helpful and attentive. Communication with him is great solving all queries and doubts very promptly. He also sends you via email a great detailed guide about Bratislava and the apartment. This comes very handy! The apartment is great, very quiet and comfortable. Just a 10 min walk to the old town. I was luck enough to enjoy the warm weather and sunshine in the nice little patio. It was a delight to have coffee in the morning there!. Thanks Jan for a great stay! Will be definitely stay here again when I return to Bratislava!.

  • The communication with Jan, the host, was very nice. He is obiously caring about his guests. He sent his friend to pick us up, offered some free givaways and provided bus tickets (to pay, but just the regular price) that were sitting in the apartment. A convenient and really helpful method since it is difficult to find places to buy them.
The apartment is like you see in the pictures: definitely an older place, fairly simple but has all you would need for cooking and living on a brief stay in the city. A bit tricky is airing kitchen and bathroom, plus to keep the bathroom dry since there is no shower curtain. The way into downtown Bratislava is like advertised about 15 mins by foot, a bus to the rain station takes 10 mins.
I would recommend this place, especially for Jan, a friendly host. On the search for a new and shiny setting you should rather look for a hotel - but with Jan's place you get a small but complete apartment for yourself.

  • I stayed for several days Jan's lovely apartment. It is tastefully furnished and very practical. Pictures reflect very well the reality.

Jan was extremely helpful with showing us in and advising about surroundings and Bratislava in general.

  • Jan is an awesome host. We already arrived at 5 am in the morning and his friend was so kind to open the apartment for us. There was basic food available, the apartment was clean and we overall enjoyed Jan's above average hospitality and help with everything related to exploring Bratislava. I can just recommend this apartment to anybody who is looking for a cheap and meanwhile comfortable stay. The apartment is located quite close to the centre and there is a bus station very close as well as a tram station 5 mins by foot!

  • The stay was lovely. The apartment was nice and clean. The heat worked very well. The water pressure and heat in the shower was great! I would highly recommend this! It is a 5 minute walk away from the central bus station and a 15 minute walk away from the heart of Bratislava.
