Curtin flat - central and comfy

Apartment - Entire home/apt · Dawson St, Curtin, ACT 2605, Australia

The Space

We have a fully furnished one bedroom flat on the ground floor of our home. It is totally private with no internal access but sharing the backyard with our friendly young family. The location is superb in one of the nicest streets in Curtin, just a 5 minute walk to the shops, walking trails or bus stop.

Includes own driveway parking, separate entrance and private courtyard and gardens (fenced off) with daybed and outdoor setting. The property is secure with security door and latches.

Renovated recently, the flat has a lounge/kitchen, large bedroom with queen size ensemble bed and new bathroom. The galley style kitchen includes full size oven, hotplate, microwave and fridge.

Fully furnished with towels, bedding and linen. This is a true 'arrive with just your suitcase' type of accommodation.

Cost includes all bills, Internet and Foxtel. Cleaned once a week with fresh bedding and towels provided. Laundry can be done in main part of the house or a load washed for you on request.

We offer both short term bookings and long term options.

Long term would suit a person working in Canberra during the week or anyone who just wants a private place without any bother of sharing, split bills or maintaining a property. Suits single person or couple.

The tenant can be totally private in the flat or can choose to interact with the family in the main house as suits them.

Rent is $150 per night (min of two nights), $700 per week (up to a month), $550 per week (1 to 3 months) or $450 per week for 3 + months.

  • Siimone's Curtin apartment is exactly as described - central and comfy. It is recently, and tastefully, renovated and is very well equipped. It is close to shops and the bus stop, Simone and her family are welcoming and very helpful. Overall, a perfect place for a short stay in Canberra.

  • We strongly recommend Simone's fully-renovated, clean, nicely decorated flat to everyone going to Canberra! Simone is a very welcoming and generous host too. Thank you Simone!

  • This flat was exactly as described, and there were lots of great small touches, from the linen provided to the availability of the manuals for the heaters and alarm clock. I particularly appreciated the shower, which in the middle of a Canberra winter was both hot and strong, and the ability to time the heaters. The hostess was very friendly and easy going, which made the whole experience even better. In terms of what could be improved, there's unfortunately no room for a dishwasher, which is a shame but is not a deal breaker by any stretch of the imagination.

  • I stayed in the flat for 3 nights when I was in Canberra recently for work and it served all of my needs. It looked like it had been recently renovated, and was very clean and modern. The small kitchen was perfect as was the bathroom, and the overall styling of the flat was beautiful. The linen was gorgeous and the bed was extremely comfortable. There was even off street parking for my car. Simone was very friendly and welcoming when I arrived making me feel right at home whilst at the same time respecting my privacy for the remainder of my stay. A great little place in a central suburb close to all amenities. Thanks Simone!

  • Simone was lovely with a beautiful, new and clean private flat with Foxtel, internet, kitchen, bathroom. She left me nice American chocolates to make me feel at home ;). I would definitely go back and recommend this place to a friend or couple travelling through Canberra.

  • We recently spent the weekend Mountain Biking in Canberra. Simone was friendly and most accommodating of our needs- letting us bring our bikes undercover and she even let us bring our pet (a rabbit in a cage). She made every effort to make us feel welcome, be informative and hospitable. The shops close by were great to grab lunch, dinner and a morning coffee/breakfast. It was central to our needs of reaching our riding destinations. The bed was very comfortable, and the shower hot with great pressure. Simone's apartment was clean, lovely, relaxing, homely and a comfortable place to relax. We had a great weekend. We would seek to stay here again the next time we visit Canberra.

  • This was a delightful place to stay -- comfortable, well-supplied, convenient, and private. Simone was available and helpful when needed and not obtrusive otherwise. Some things you might want to know if you are not familiar with Canberra: This flat is in Curtin, which, while an inner suburb of Canberra, is not in walking distance of Civic, ANU, or the central government buildings. It would be a lovely bicycle ride if you are so inclined. The Curtin shops, in easy walking distance, include a full-service grocery store, a gas station, a green-grocer, a news-agent, a chemist (drug store), a bank, a real-estate office, a really fine used-book store, and several eating establishments. On the #2 bus, it is about 20 to 25 minutes to central Canberra; on the express #732, which runs three times in the morning and three in the afternoon, it is about 12 minutes, and there is a stop right on the edge of the ANU campus. Bus service is much less frequent on weekends. The town center of Woden, with a big shopping center, is quite close on paved off-road walking/cycling trails, less than a mile away. These paths go almost everywhere in the vicinity, and are a great amenity that it is hard to see from the road. I realize I have said more here about the amenities nearby than about the flat itself, but the flat is really an excellent accommodation for one or two people, especially for an extended stay of a week or more, when you want to cook for yourself. -- Richard

  • This would have to be one of the great finds in Canberra. Amazing place to stay, walking distance to shops and the main roads and bus stops, yet you feel tucked away in a peaceful and relaxing setting with all the modern amenities you could ask for. Being able to make your own food or just pop up the road to a restaurant, sit on the couch or even better the daybed (heaven) just a few of the great things. To top it off the hosts of the property are amazing people. You have your own private space and at the same time if you have a question they are happy to assist, in fact they go above and beyond expectations in what they offer. I hope that not to many people read this otherwise this divine Curtin flat might be booked out next time I head to Canberra! So yes I am looking forward to coming back... I miss it already.
