Thank you for taking the time to check out my place
it was the second time for us to stay with Cecilia. She is a super host and we enjoyed a lovely conversation with her during our stay. She had essentials for us in the refrigerator and some fruit on the table and the tea kettle was on for a good cup of tea. If it were not so unusually hot, we would have gladly enjoyed one. The place was spotlessly clean and we enjoyed the ventilators she placed into our rooms. The heat required it, and she thought of it! A couple of things we recommended after our last trip were attended to. Kindly she sent us of early in the morning on Sunday, to hug us and leave us a gift to say goodbye and to receive the keys back. We feel secure in the place and very well taken care off!Thank you Cecilia!
We had the most wonderful time staying here & would highly recommend it! Cecilia & Harry are incredibly welcoming hosts & we would give them 6 stars if possible -- they have a love for their city that goes above & beyond :)
The 3rd floor self-contained apartment is exactly as pictured & is very spacious, with each of the 3 bedrooms having a queen sized bed. The master has the large ensuite with bathtub shower & for the other 2 rooms there is a bathroom with walk-in shower & then there is also another toilet/sink off the living/dining room.
The kitchen has everything you need to make meals, & Cecilia so nicely stocked the fridge with some essentials (eggs, milk, bread + yummy cake) to get us started, which was really appreciated! The washer & dryer is right off the kitchen & came in very handy with a drying rack to hang laundry too.
The living room & large dining table give lots of space for everyone in your group to hang out, watch tv, or just relax with the balcony doors open...
There's a lovely cross-breeze throughout the apt & we felt very comfortable sleeping with the windows open (+ there are fans in every room).
Security for the building is very good with a series of locking gates/doors, plus we found the area to be completely safe, with a friendly nightwatch man in a booth out front every night & tons of businesses/taxi's are just a block away on Primavera Ave.
Cecilia has prepared a booklet with lots of helpful info & maps on the area which we used to familiarize ourselves & find our way to places like the grocery store Vivanda (similar to Whole Foods & about 4 short blocks away). Don Mamino the bakery/restaurant (1 block away) is fantastic & some of the staff speak English if you need help picking out your pastries.
We usually paid 15 soles for a taxi to Miraflores or La Molina, & 10 soles to Jockey Plaza Mall... & since there's always another coming along, pick the nicest car -- the rides are bumpy & a little crazy so you might as well be comfortable!
We found the ATM at BancoRed on Primavera (on same block as Don Mamino) was the only one to give us cash from our Canadian debit cards, but there are other ATM's close by in the Vivanda store & near Papa John's Pizza.
Cecilia was always prompt to answer texts if we had any questions & if there had been any problems I'm sure she would've dealt with it immediately (it's helpful that they live in the apt right up above).
We hope to stay here again on our next trip to Lima!
Hi Storme, how can I ever convay our appreciation for the time you share with us in our home. We were delighted to have some very interesting conversations with your Dady and yourself. I can say without doubts, you both are excellent ambassadors for your lovely country (hopefully we will achieve our little dream...chu chu chu) :)!
Thank you for staying with us and you are welcome any time
We are extremely greatful for Luisa Cecilia for a very warm, hospitable and flexible hosting of our 7-day visit in Lima. Thank you!
On coming to Lima I was picked up from the airport by our host, which was extremely helpful when arriving at 7 AM to a new city. Me and 3 friends were greeted after long travel with tasty food, coffee and tea. Our host had even prepared a vegetarian pie based on our pre-informed diets. Very friendly and welcoming – to say the least.
The appartment is cleanly and cozy and is pretty much what we expected from the AirBnB description. The washing mashine, TV, Wifi and everything else worked very well. The appartment is nice and functional and the kitchen is equipped well for preparing the occasional dinner.
Our visit was for a conference, and ended up being a very hectic week, so we mostly looked after ourselves. Whenever we had a question to ask Luisa Cecilia she helped us out and was very flexible and friendly. Her english language skills (in case that is needed) are very strong and she was always very helpful and kind. Her knowledgeable advice on how to best get around in Lima and the neighborhood was certainly appreciated.
The appartment is well located in a safe and peaceful neighborhood, and it´s easy to get a taxi on the street close by (Avenida Primavera) wherever you want to go. The gold museum next door is definetly recommended.
There is also a nice neighborhood cafe, a very good supermarket and some good restaurants within a short walking distance.
I have no complaints whatsoever and I´m very grateful to Luisa Cecilia and her family for kindly letting us rent their appartment for a week. It was much more than we had expected. If I would come to Lima again with a similar group I would definetly try to book the same place again.
Dear Otto, you and your friends are welcome in our home whenever you have a chance to come back to Lima. I did not have the opportunity to say Good Bye in person (for my work) but I hope you felt like at home in our appartment, after all that is the idea of airbnb .
Please send my Christmas Greetings to Oras, Tuuli and Sanna and for you of course, a warm hug with our very best wishes for a Merry Christmas and excellent New Year!
Cecilia is a wonderful gracious host. Carefully made sure we would have all information necessary to get there, to feel comfortable. Our luggage did not arrive with us at the airport and she was ready and available to help us with the airline company. She made calls and communicated with us whenever necessary. We felt extremely welcome by more then basic foods she had arranged for us so we could have those wonderful first pleasures when arriving. Tea and coffee and milk and jam and bread and more, even a cheecake which we delightfully enjoyed after dinner the first night. The apartment was clean, quiet, and very well located, near restaurants and everything one might need by foot or just a few blocks away. We stayed 5 nights, the beds were very comfortable and warm since we were in Lima during cold and damp weather. It was quiet at night, no parties over the weekend that kept us awake and we felt very secure. We had everything we needed in the kitchen, it was well stocked with all the basics. We really apprecited the opportunity to stay there, we come several times a year to Lima and will be staying there again without a doubt! Her English is wonderful and helped a lot with communication, even though one of the three of us speaks Spanish fluently.
Without doubts you will be welcome when coming back to our city. Thank you for your review, it was a nice experience to have you in home, thanks again for your advices, always are welcome coming from a friend.
Hope you had a safe travel and I will be looking forward for your next visit.
Send my greatings to Vera and Silvia
Dear Cecilia, my family and I want to thank you for the warm welcome, details and fine accommodations. We spent a wonderful week in your beautiful apartment. It was immaculately clean, very well equipped, spacious and very well located. We had everything walking distance, fine restaurants, shopping, church, supermarket. I will recommend your place to my friends and family visiting Peru. Thanks again for everything. Hope to see you soon. Regards, Blanca
Five stars all around. Ceci and Harry were incomparable hosts, providing me with so many nice things that it was truly an embarrassment of riches. I don't want to leave an expectation of an impossible standard, but suffice to say that during my stay of six weeks, I was very happy. In particular, I enjoyed when they invited me to have a drink at the end of the day on their patio.
The room was exactly what I expected -- the pictures in airbnb do it justice. As well, the other descriptions, such as being able to eat off of the floor (!!) are exactly right. The apartment was immaculate.
The neighborhood was very nice. Shopping was close by. It is also close to the US embassy, so I was able to walk to work each day. The alternative, staying in the Polo ApartHotel, pales in comparison to Ceci and Harry's place and is four times as expensive!
Thanks Donald for your words, we are so please you enjoyed to stay with us as we enjoyed your company and interesting conversations about your travels and experience around the world. For us was important that you feel a little like to be in home.
You are welcome anytime you visit Lima and thank you again for treat our home with respect and care.
Best wishes for you and your family.
This apartment is spectacular! Our family has rented on a short term basis many times through the years and we have concluded that the most important factor when considering a rental of this type is who owns the property. The property will be a direct reflection of the owners and their desire to present a clean, nicely furnished, properly maintained facility. The owners of this property, Harry and Ceci, went out of their way to make sure all of our needs were taken care of. The apartment is large and has three bedrooms, three full bathrooms and guest bathroom. It was so clean you could eat off the floors. The eat-in kitchen was well supplied not only with cooking and eating utensils, but also with enough food supplies such as milk, water, coffee, butter, salt and pepper, etc. to get you started. The bathrooms were supplied with soap, toilet paper, towels, etc. There is even a little exercise room with a stationary bike and a rowing machine. Each of the bedrooms has huge closet space.
The best part of the apartment was the feeling of home. Each time we returned we had the feeling we were returning to a home versus a sterile hotel room. A family of 4 to 6 could definitely stay there for a long time, very comfortably. The owners have decorated the apartment very tastefully and have given great thought to color and style. The wireless internet worked flawlessly, as did the the flat screen TV. There is also a DVD player. The windows in the apartment are huge, giving lots of light and wonderful airflow.
The apartment's location is another advantage. It is situated in a residential area, but is an easy walk to everything that's needed: shops, supermarkets, many good restaurants, etc. Jockey Plaza, a very large shopping mall, is a short taxi ride away. The Gold Museum is a short walk. The U.S. Embassy is also within walking distance.
The owners, Harry and Ceci, live in the apartment above and are more than willing to help in any way they can. They are very personable and generous and will go out of their way to help. If this is one's first time to Lima this is important because Lima has it's own personality and customs that sometimes confuse first time visitors. It was comforting to know there were people close by we could trust.
Quite frankly, we hated to leave and wish we could have stayed longer.
Dear Peter and Luz, we are so please you both enjoyed to stay with us, as we enjoyed sharing our home with you too. We had interesting and very deep conversations about so many things. I really apreciate those moments. Thanks so much for your words and review, Peter and Luz, you are truly very kind persons. For us is very important that our guests feel in home otherwise what would the point be, and of course to have the oportunity to make friends and meet interesting people like you. We both look forward to your next visit to Lima and to have the chance to share more interesting conversations about our individual experiences around the world.
Wish you a Merry Christmas and a excellent New Year!
Ceci and family
I am from Lima, Perú. My dearest pleasure is travel giving the opportunity (means when I have free time or vacations). I think travel is one of the most enriching experiences one can have, opens one eyes to different cultures. I enjoy and appreciate the good food (like all the peruvians) and try new recipes., I enjoy music (almost every kind) and long walks.
Hopefully being a member of AirBnB will be a doorway to meet very interesting people worldwide.
Greetings from Peru
