Value
  • We thought the apartment was a good value for the price. It was true to the pictures posted of it and everything worked great. The building was nice and felt very secure. The hallways were clean and the elevator worked every time. The area was nice and central to the area we were visiting so it was perfect for us. It was very convenient to get the keys and to leave them which was nice because I have had other experiences where that process was very complicated. If you're looking for a luxury style place this is not for you. However if you are looking for a reasonably priced place in a happening area I can recommend this apartment.

  • Very well placed and functional apartment. We would have appreciated the small more as some good addresses in the district...

    March 2014
  • The place is just kind of weird. It's clear that no one lives there full time, and so it's not in great shape. The furniture is cheap or broken, the beds are uncomfortable, and the television only gets like 4 channels. Communicating with the hosts is strange--you are referred from one to another, and they are less than welcoming in their communication. However, if you are on a budget and looking for a place to stay in Alphabet City, it's not the worst place in the world. I won't stay here again though.

  • The apartment is as pictured and was a good amount of space for our family of three. It wasn't as clean as we expect but it was tidy. The hosts were responsive and, although I was confused at times by the fact there are five of them, we had no issues at all obtaining a key and getting information. You'll get a lot of street noise sleeping in the living room (where the window aircon unit lets sound in), but I guess that's part of the deal when you want to pretend to live in New York City for a few days. We've stayed in plenty of hotels in NYC over the years where noise and cleanliness aren't an issue, but overall, we're glad we tried this once. It's a fun neighbourhood and a great base if you want to spend time in both Manhattan and Brooklyn.

  • Great place, extremely clean and a great location. The hosts were very accommodating, we would definitely stay again!

    February 2014
  • It was a decent apartment in a great building in an amazing location. The apartment could have felt cleaner, especially in terms of bedsheets and pillows. On reflection, it wasn't such a bargain and perhaps I would prefer to pay only a bit more and stay at the Thomson or Rivington hotels in same East Village / LES area. There is still a value to experiencing apartment life in Manhattan. Finally, the hosts were gracious and in constant communication.

    February 2014
  • I loved the apartment, the neighborhood and the hosts.

  • I enjoyed paying to stay at the listing.

    January 2014
  • Great value in the heart of Alphabet City! Very easy to work with!
