What a truly wonderful redwood retreat! We wanted a weekend away from the city and are so happy we came across Mary Ann and her studio cabin. It was clean, secluded, and well furnished! We brought food with us and were comfortable with a equipped kitchen to cook breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It's nestled in a beautiful forest of redwoods and was a nice, scenic drive from the coast, as well as towns such as Freestone (Wild Four Bakery!), Occidental (Howard's Cafe!), and Santa Rosa (Treehorn Books!).
If you can, take the time for a weekend away. Mary Ann and her partner were friendly, responsive, and accomondating.
"Redwood retreat" is the perfect description. You take a dirt road before arriving, and then it opens to this absolutely beautiful property. The studio is very private, and every part of it is intentional, cozy, and amazing. Great access as well to Bodega Bay, the coast, wine country, and pretty much everything you'll want to see in the north bay. We have been to ten airbnb places in the past year, and this is clearly one of the best.
Peaceful Redwood Retreat lives up to its name. The cabin is in a very secluded area surrounded by beautiful redwood trees. Mary Ann is a very warm and welcoming person. We had a lovely and relaxing time staying here. The cabin apartment is very tastefully designed and comfortable. Even though we stayed here during unusually heavy rains (the pineapple express) we really enjoyed ourselves. There is a nice big fire which keeps the cabin cozy in the winter. We enjoyed the delicious baked goods from the nearby bakery Wild Flour, massages at the Japanese Spa Osmosis and just relaxing and reading in the cabin. It was also very nice falling asleep to the sounds of heavy rain and happy frogs. I highly recommend it as a place to stay rain or shine!
What a weekend! Mary Ann and Pam were fantastic hosts, very friendly and welcoming and fun to chat with. The space was ideal for a weekend away. An idyllic setting, with plenty of space to cook and nest. Highly recommended!
A truly wonderful place to stay. Mary Ann is so welcoming and the barn is fantastic. Beautiful space, fabulous lighting and architectural details, very clean and very comfortable. Quality all around. WiFi and a well equipped kitchen too. Quiet and peaceful with a view over the pond. A superb home away from home to explore the surrounding area.
The reservation was canceled 28 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Is there a word more peaceful than "peaceful?" Mary Ann and Pam provide incredibly cozy accommodations in a beautiful setting. The retreat has everything you need for sleeping, cooking, and entertainment. There is also a great selection of books. We would love to return the next time we are in Sonoma County. I highly recommend this spot of you enjoy warmth, peacefulness, good lighting, and a great view of the redwoods.
What an amazing little spot! If you need peace and tranquility you MUST stay here. Mary Anne is a sweetheart, what a great experience!
Beautiful location, nicely decorated, and well equipped kitchen. We spent two very comfortable night there. I look forward to going back!
We loved this place! It was so magical and perfect for our little family of 3. It was immaculate and beautiful as shown in the photos. My 7 year old enjoyed Kayaking in the small pond and building fairy houses in the Redwoods. We enjoyed sipping tea by the fireplace and exploring the numerous books available to read. Thank you Mary Ann & Pam!
