The Space

Two suites with private bathrooms and private entrances. The Cottage is 800 square feet with two bedrooms, living room, dining and kitchen area and gas fireplace. It has a full size fridge, micro/convection oven, and dishwasher. There is no stove in either room by order of the city bylaws. The Magnolia Room sleeps two people with an antique half canopy bed and soaker tub for two right in the bedroom. Both rooms have their own entrances and open up onto the 1/2 acre of gardens, several decks, gazebo and hot tub. There are also several seating areas throughout the garden. There is plenty of on site parking and both rooms have wi-fi, televisions, cd and dvd players. We are on the city bus route and close to shopping but our privacy hedge makes it very secluded. The gardens include many varieties of hostas, flowers, evergreens and several types of roses in the rose garden. Close to the RCMP training center and the University of the Fraser Valley. The price quoted above is for the Cottage only. The Magnolia Room is cheaper per night. Both rooms are priced as rooms only. Breakfast is another $10.00 per person, per night in both rooms. If there are only two people, there is an extra charge for the extra bedroom if needed. The calendar only shows the Cottage availability. Inquiries about the Magnolia will have to be made to us via Airbnb.

Guest Access

1/2 acre of gardens for our guests to enjoy. There is a gazebo and several sitting areas. Our rose garden is perfect for that morning cup of coffee or that evening glass of wine. The Cottage has a private sitting area just for them.

The Neighborhood

We are only a couple of blocks from a small shopping area with drug store, Tim Hortons, Sushi restaurant and a few other conveniences. In the summertime there is an Eco Market that runs every Wednesday night from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. The market is in Sardis park which is one block from us.

Getting around

The bus stops just a half block from our home.

Other Things to Note

Our gardens were in the June 2013 Garden's West magazine. We have a variety of critters in our garden. There is a little rabbit that seems to have decided to move in, along with several squirrels, Stellar jays, Doves and in the spring we have the ducks that waddle over from the park and often swim in the pond we have by the suites.

About
Married to the same guy for 45 years with three fabulous daughters and two grandchildren. My husband just retired this year and his passion is playing music. He has a jam session here every Thursday evening and our guests are welcome to come and see what that is all about or to join in. Mostly the music is folk or country with a few oldies thrown in. That's old songs, not people. No worries about the noise though, you can't hear anything unless you are in the basement with the jam gang. I scrapbook and make cards. I have the most awesome scrapbook room in the main part of the house. My other scrapbooking/cardmaking friends, call it the 'store'. Just recently I took up some beading projects but scrapbooking is what I love to do. Our gardens are kept in order mainly by my husband. He spends hours out there puttering. Last year we were in the Rotary Garden Tour and took second place. If you love hostas, he has lots of varieties along with a rose garden and numerous other plants. We look forward to talking to our guests about travel, where they live and where they have been. Hope we can talk to you about your travels and experiences.
