As a guest you might like to hang out in the kitchen, living room, music room or out on the porch.

We have 130 acres of fields and forest to explore. There are paths including one to a beautiful waterfall.

Feeders bring birds close to the windows and porch. Other wildlife may include woodchucks, squirrels, coydogs, hawks, foxes, hummingbirds, wild turkeys or deer.

There is a collection of guides to local hiking trails that you may borrow.

Interaction with guests

I love greeting and chatting with guests. Please let me know if you would like to know about the history of the place, where to shop for antiques or where the nearest ski areas are.

If you prefer more privacy, or less contact, just let me know.

Usually I will serve you breakfast family style with everyone in the house at the same table. If you prefer to eat alone, just let me know. I want your stay to be just they way you envision it. Breakfast is served according to your schedule whether early bird or late sleeper.

At times I may need to be away or leave early in the morning. In this case, breakfast will be self-serve but will still consist of a delicious breakfast with hot, homemade food, coffee or tea and seasonal fruits and juices.

Evelyn was the quintessential professional and treated us with courtesy from the get-go. Her home exceeded our expectations and was a great value. We loved it, thank you Evelyn. A note: if you are a particularly light sleeper this might not be the place for you -- it's amazing how much noise carries through an 18th century home! Part of the territory, though :P

I really enjoyed my stay here! The breakfast was really delicious, the house is cozy and the property is beautiful, especially with the fall foliage. Evelyn was a good host and told us all about the house. Even though she was pretty busy she gave us some good recommendations for things to do in the area.

As your hosts, we love to meet new people from all over the world. We have traveled to Italy and a few other countries in Europe. We have also traveled to Panama and Canada.

Evelyn sells her homemade pies and quiches at local farmers markets each week. Her quiches are regularly available for breakfast. She also sells jams, jellies, pickles and relishes which may also be available for tasting upon request.

She also substitute teaches at local area schools.

Evelyn grew up in Vermont. The B&B is on the farm where her family has lived since the town was founded in the late 1700's.

We have lived on both coasts as well as several years in Costa Rica,. We look forward to meeting you and hearing about your travels.
