About this listing
This is the perfect place to enjoy the Austin experience!
I have a 2 bedroom apartment (one of which is a loft) and 1 bathroom (accessible through the main bedroom). This sweet space has high ceilings and a walk-in closet. The queen sized Temur-Pedic bed will sleep two easily and the loft space accommodates two more on another queen bed. There is plenty of natural light and the view from the 4th floor balcony is incredible as it overlooks the iconic "City of Austin" Power Landmark and the Missouri-Pacific rail line that used to feed it (fyi, it can be noisy...). Whole Foods is a block away for any provisions you may need. I even have the SXSW office across the street from my front door. Furthermore, convenience stores, Office Max, bars, restaurants, coffee shops, shopping, yoga (you name it) are all a few steps away. If you are not in the mood to walk, one of a dozen bike shops will rent bikes and/or the Car2Go program will really make you feel cool.
If you reserve my place, be sure to check out the Guestbook that I've created on Airbnb for great restaurant and bar recommendations!
Here are some highlights:
• 46" flatscreen with AppleTV (Netflix, etc.)
• Wireless high-speed internet
• One spot in parking garage
• Full kitchen
• Fresh towels
• Soap & shampoo
• Washer & dryer
• Iron & ironing board
I hope you choose my place, but good luck with your search regardless of where you stay! :)
The rules are pretty typical. Be nice to my stuff and the neighbors. I'll have a more detailed print-out available for you in the apartment if there is something specific you get curious about.
Listing description was completely accurate and unit was as in the pictures. Tim was a great host - extremely responsive, accommodating and helpful. Great location next to everything you could ask for in downtown Austin. Overall a great experience.
Tim was easy to communicate with, gave clear instructions, and was very accommodating. I will definitely stay at Tim's place again on future trips to Austin.
There was a great pool and bbq grills right downstairs. The location is perfect to walk downtown or is a short cab ride away. There is tons of outdoor activities close by. Overall, a great place!
The train does go by outside at night, but ear plugs (which Tim provides) does the trick for an uninterrupted sleep.
Tim was the absolute host, you couldn't ask for a better first-time Airbnb experience.
The apartment was clean and well-kept and in a great spot - there's a Trader Joe's right across the street and you can walk down 3rd to get to ACL Live and other downtown points of interest.
The train does exist though but there are some extra earplugs that he has left in case you leave yours at home. But, you didn't come to Austin to stay inside, did you?
Also, I was nervous about parking as we had two cars but there is ample street metered parking and it is free to park on Sundays (as of 7/24/15).
The place was great and Tim was highly responsive ! The train makes it a bit noisy at night - trains in Texas are longggg... ear plugs highly recommended !
Great little place. Clean and stocked with everything you need. Train was definitely apparent. Ear plugs do the trick if you're a light sleeper (they help with your boyfriends snoring too)! Loved how close it was to Trader Joe's and Whole Foods. Parking was a breeze but don't you forget to leave the sticker behind!! Tim was very easy to get a hold of. Definitely would recommend this place to a friend :)
We came to Austin for a wedding over Memorial Day weekend, and this apartment was a lovely place to stay with our one year old son. (A pack n' play fits perfectly in the walk-in closet off the bathroom!) Although the trains going by behind the apartment building were loud, we had no trouble falling or staying asleep. Easy to walk to shops and groceries, easy to walk into downtown. We'd stay here again in a heartbeat!
Couldn't have picked a better place to stay. Tim was always available and the apartments was adorable. There's a train that passes frequently, but being from NYC it didn't bother us one bit. Close to everything fun in Austin. There is a bike rental right around the corner too. We'll definitely be back!
