This is the perfect place to enjoy the Austin experience!
I have a 2 bedroom apartment (one of which is a loft) and 1 bathroom (accessible through the main bedroom). This sweet space has high ceilings and a walk-in closet. The queen sized Temur-Pedic bed will sleep two easily and the loft space accommodates two more on another queen bed. There is plenty of natural light and the view from the 4th floor balcony is incredible as it overlooks the iconic "City of Austin" Power Landmark and the Missouri-Pacific rail line that used to feed it (fyi, it can be noisy...). Whole Foods is a block away for any provisions you may need. I even have the SXSW office across the street from my front door. Furthermore, convenience stores, Office Max, bars, restaurants, coffee shops, shopping, yoga (you name it) are all a few steps away. If you are not in the mood to walk, one of a dozen bike shops will rent bikes and/or the Car2Go program will really make you feel cool.
If you reserve my place, be sure to check out the Guestbook that I've created on Airbnb for great restaurant and bar recommendations!
Here are some highlights:
• 46" flatscreen with AppleTV (Netflix, etc.)
• Wireless high-speed internet
• One spot in parking garage
• Full kitchen
• Fresh towels
• Soap & shampoo
• Washer & dryer
• Iron & ironing board
I hope you choose my place, but good luck with your search regardless of where you stay! :)
The rules are pretty typical. Be nice to my stuff and the neighbors. I'll have a more detailed print-out available for you in the apartment if there is something specific you get curious about.
I booked Tim's lovely loft for my littles sister's birthday weekend. It slept four people perfectly with very comfy beds. As other reviews have mentioned there is a train right next to the loft which passes by frequently, however it never bothered us. Unfortunately on our stay we had a few set backs. In order to park in the garage you need to stick a parking pass (provided during checkin) onto your windshield. Due to the cold weather the pass fell off of which caused my car to get towed. Tim was very responsive and helpful through out the whole ordeal but it still cost a pretty penny to get my car out. My advice is to bring along tape and make sure it's secure. Other than that, the location itself is incredible! Walking distance to Whole Foods and Sixth Street.
Great spot close to everything you could ever want to be close to. The room was clean, inviting, and Tim was beyond accommodating. He texted me a few times to make sure everything was good and responded to questions very quickly. Parking for one car is very convenient because Tim provides you with a spot, but more than 1 car could be a little inconvenient because of the 3 hour max street parking. The only downside of this property is its proximity to the train. Its annoying but we got used to it.
The location was great-! Apartment was as depicted-
The host was great- thanks Tim for navigating all my questions-
Loved Austin- unfortunately we had to cut our trip short due to bad weather back north- will definitely come back - thanks again for having us!
We had a great time in Austin and were extremely excited about the great location of Tim's place. Everything went smooth and we would stay there again anytime.
We stayed in Austin for a week in Tim's apartment. It was in a great location and perfect for what we needed. Highly recommend staying here.
Tim was a great host, leaving us a clean apartment in the heart of Austin. The apartment complex was safe, and in a central location close enough to bars and restaurants. One bonus was having the parking garage available to us, so helpful!
