Interaction with Guests

I love greeting and chatting with guests. Please let me know if you would like to know about the history of the place, where to shop for antiques or where the nearest ski areas are.

If you prefer more privacy, or less contact, just let me know.

Usually I will serve you breakfast family style with everyone in the house at the same table. If you prefer to eat alone, just let me know. I want your stay to be just they way you envision it. Breakfast is served according to your schedule whether early bird or late sleeper.

At times I may need to be away or leave early in the morning. In this case, breakfast will be self-serve but will still consist of a delicious breakfast with hot, homemade food, coffee or tea and seasonal fruits and juices.

The Neighborhood

Stroll the country roads past cows and horses or climb the hill to the sheep farm. A two and a half mile walk takes you along the White River into the village where you will find two excellent restaurants. One is a sit down style with steak and sea food dishes. The other is a gourmet beer pub with grass-fed beef burgers, organic vegetables, and micro-brew beers.

Nestled in the heart of Vermont we are just three miles from I-89 on your way up to all the ski areas, hiking trails, festivals, craft shows, art shows, Agricultural Fairs and so much more.

Getting Around

As in most of rural America, a car is the best way to travel around. The closest airport is BTV in Burlington, Vt. where you can rent a car. Buses and trains from Boston, Ma., NYC or Montreal, Quebec arrive into White River Jct. or Lebanon, NH where you can also rent a car.

Other Things to Note

Close by you will find: King Arthur Flour offers baking classes. Celie Fago offers courses in silver clay jewelry making. Bob White Systems offers assistance in starting your own micro-dairy. The Vermont Law School is the top Environmental law school in the country.
