Good place for those spiritually inclined. Strengths 1) beautiful grounds and temple area. 2) very friendly people, helpful with learning area. 3) optional participation in community practices as indicated on web 4) really good vegetarian food, don't hesitate to have lunch or dinner there. 5) nice cafe only short walk north, looking into beautiful rice fields 6) meet other spiritually inclined travelers 7) good place for sitting and walking meditation on own Lesser strenghs (all disclosed) 1) about 4km from downtown Ubud, (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) rupiah by taxi. Some will prefer to be closer, at least for part of stay. 2) rooms a bit rustic, open air with no air conditioning. Mosquitos ate well, but tolerable. 3) My sleep not as good during stay. Beds wood with single pad. Typical for ashram/monastery.

My boyfriend and I had a good experience in the Asharam. It was definitely a great start in the year for us, starting with a new healthy routine to meditate every morning. The ashram has a very peaceful environment, the room is simple but very cosy and clean.

Host made us feel welcome. Room is tidy and clean. Room stays cool throughout the day even though there is no air conditioner (a standing fan is provided). Yoga and meditation sessions are available here if you like meditating. Place is about 5km++ from Ubud Town. Motorcycle rental can be obtained, so no worries about transport. Some construction work going on behind the building during my stay, was a little noisy. Host was helpful, we didn't have a phone and needed to communicate with our driver. Host was patient and waited with us till the driver arrived.

Anand Ashram is my favorite place to stay in Ubud. The rooms are comfortable, the facilities are good and it is so peaceful. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this to anyone seeking retreat style accommodation, and I recommend the meditations and morning ceremony. Next time I endeavour to try the kundalini yoga with Herny. I look forward to my return.

Staying at Anand Ashram was great! Herny and Yoda were wonderful, the food delicious (order a day ahead) and the room basic, clean and comfortable. I really enjoyed it!

My stay at the ashram was quite pleasant, the property itself is beautiful and Henry was a good host. I met some amazing people here and being part of the ashram for my short stay was such a treat. I met some amazing locals that are part of the ashram, took part in meditations and chants, it was a really humbling experience. I'll remember it forever. Thanks to all who made my stay so great and so memorable.
