About this listing
Bedroom with a view of the water on a quiet street in town, with several great food and wine choices just a 5-minute walk away!
Cool ocean breezes and a quiet neighborhood make for restorative sleep and great dreams.
My daughter is off to college, so now we can have guests! Stay right in the middle of town in charming Bodega Bay, and wake to a view of the harbor. We are located two blocks from the water, stores and restaurants, in a quiet neighborhood with off-street parking.
Our house is spacious, quiet and peaceful, with wifi and cable in the bedroom and a private bathroom with tub and shower. The room has a queen size bed with brand new pillow-top mattress, desk, plenty of closet space, and a full-length mirror.
I am a writer and work from home most days. This bedroom is an ideal writing retreat, or use it as a centrally located spot from which to explore the coast. Extra guests can sleep on the very comfy couches in my quiet living room. If you have a friendly, well-behaved dog you'd like to bring along, please contact me beforehand to discuss.
The desk in the guest room has loads of information on local dining and outings. I am happy to help you find great places to eat and visit during your stay, both in Bodega Bay and along the rest of your trip. Both Verizon and ATT phones work well here in town.
The town of Bodega (where the schoolhouse and church used in the movie The Birds are) is five minutes away. Occidental is 20 minutes by car, Sebastopol is 25 minutes away, and Petaluma or Jenner takes about 30 minutes.
If you are driving up from Pt. Reyes, give yourself 45 minutes to reach Bodega Bay. Bicyclists are welcome, and there is plenty of room to safely store your bikes overnight.
You are welcome to use the kitchen free of charge, but please do not help yourself to our food—aside from coffee and tea fixings. If you do need to use an ingredient please ask first. It is usually okay, but I have had a couple unpleasant surprises.
I am very quiet, work from home, and have a very well-behaved, older black lab mix. I request that visitors keep noise down after 10 pm. Feel free to use the kitchen, but please clean up after yourself. Just let me know if you need anything during your stay and I'll be happy to help.
The wifi password and other information is located in a binder on the bedroom desk.
