About this listing
The Room: Beautiful and Comfortable. The bed is comfortable, the place is quiet, the room is beautiful, and everything is fine-hotel quality clean. You'll be provided with a full set of fluffy towels, hair-dryer, iron and full-size ironing board -- even a professional-grade steamer.
The City: Close and Convenient. One block from the C and G, two blocks from express trains at Atlantic Center, including the 2/3/4/5/B/D/N/R/Q and the LIRR, Fort Greene is the largest train hub in the city -- bigger than Grand Central or Penn Station. You can be hanging out downtown at Union Square in fifteen minutes, or visiting museums on the Upper West Side in thirty.
Neighborhood: Safe and Cool. Fort Greene is Brooklyn's best kept secret, cool but low-key. It's got some of the best bars and restaurants in the city, including one of the city's best-loved wine bars, a burger joint that serves beer shakes, award-winning red velvet cake, Blue Bottle Coffee, Ethiopian, Mexican, Cuban, Turkish, and Italian -- all within three blocks of the apartment. Local writers like Zadie Smith and Jennifer Egan read regularly at Greenlight Books down the block. The independent theater and cinema complex at BAM shows art flicks and first run films every night, and has recently put up theater productions starring Alan Rickman, Kevin Spacey, and Cate Blanchett. And our local park was designed by Frederic Law Olmstead, the great landscape architect who also designed Central Park.
Free wireless internet, full kitchen access, and abundant street parking.

Look forward to hearing from you!
I work from home, so the only house rule is that guests need to be out of the apartment between 9:00 to 5:00 on weekdays, so the best fit will be with people who are visiting the city for work or planning to be out and about during the days.
The room is clean and quiet. The bed is really good.
It is on the same block of the C train and close to others subway lines.
Carey had good communication to check in and check out.
The wifi had low signal on my laptop. I had to connect it through my cellphone (cellphone could get in the wifi range).
The door of the room doesn't have a lock, but I feel that no one entered the room while I was out.
Overall I would recommend if you want a good place to sleep for some days or weeks.
Carey was very welcoming, helpful and accommodating to my situation. The room was very cosy, homely and spacious. Fantastic big double bed and nice reading chair. A great location and easy to get into the city.
Carey was a very welcoming host - the place was comfortable, clean, and she was there to greet me upon arrival. Also, the neighborhood was wonderful; lots of restaurants and shops and a quick and easy train ride into Manhattan. Carey's title, "City Sanctuary" is so accurate! Everything about this place and its hostess was great - I'd definitely stay here again!
Carey was very communicative and sweet. My dad was traveling the country from Korea and arrive an hour and half late to the initial arrival time but Carey totally understood the situation and welcomed us when we finally met. The room is spacious, clean and cozy. Being close to the restroom was a plus!
I really appreciate Carey accepting my request despite I was renting the room of a single night. I discovered many hosts tend to turn down a single night request because it may not be worthy for the time they put in. Thanks a lot Carey! :)
cozy and very comfortable room, clean, and so conveniently located; recommend it and I would stay again.
I was really pleased with how quiet the area is being between two busy streets. It is a sanctuary! It was very easy to stay with Carey, too, and can't fault her relaxed but willing-to-advise-if-you-need-it attitude.
About the Host, Carey
I've always loved welcoming people to my place, whether it's for a bowl of soup on a cold night, a cup of tea, or an overnight stay.
Looking forward to welcoming you.
