A stone's throw from beautiful Lido Beach near downtown Sarasota, our cheery yellow house incorporates 3 entirely separate units - 2 x 1 bedrooms and 1 STUDIO apartment. This listing is for the bright and sunny studio. It has high speed internet, 47in flat screen TV with cable ( inc. HBO ), a small brand new custom and fully equipped kitchen with Miele oven, Wolf induction cooktop and undercount fridge. The retro funky blue bathroom has many original (1960 ) features. The bed is a comfy queen size and the bedding new and fresh. There are cool terrazzo floors throughout and mid-century style furniture and decor. We recently installed central air and heat. We have a nice outdoor garden space with tropical plants, a hammock and various lounge chairs and umbrellas where you can relax and read. There is a bbq grill and outdoor dining area for use and a free washer and dryer is round the back. We provide bikes( even a vintage tandem! ) , surf boards, flippers and snorkels, coolers, beach chairs and many other things for the beach. Parking is available in front of the house. Gorgeous sunsets are also free!
Our quiet street is one of the nicest on Lido Key, all low rises, with a quaint "time stood still" feel. Lido Pavilion and pool are 1/2 block away and the beach and Gulf of Mexico just beyond it. Make your coffee in the morning and wander barefoot to drink it at the water's edge. At the other end of Grant Drive are parks and mangroves and we are minutes away from nature trails, kayak rentals and access to the 4 bodies of water that make up the beautiful 100 acre South Lido Beach Park. It is the perfect area to run, stroll, bike and explore.
Nearby is the elegant St Armand's Circle where you can shop and dine at wonderful restaurants like Shore and Venezia ( we will give you a long list of places all over Sarasota when you arrive! ). In fact with the bus at the end of our street that goes downtown you don't even need to rent a car during your stay! Downtown Sarasota, just across the gorgeous Ringling Bridge also offers plenty. We love the Sarasota Opera, the Ringling Museum, the Historic Asolo Theatre, the shops on Main Street, the Marina and the hundreds of different places to eat and drink.
We aim to create a calm and friendly guest house with a "boutique" style, filling the units with lovely furniture and decor and art that we have picked up on our travels.
Mostly staying on site, Dale and I will be on hand to welcome you and look after your needs during your stay. We have a business ( furniture building and photography ) and are a sociable and friendly couple who love to travel and meet people from all over the world. We would be honored to share our space with you.

A whole private studio apartment with kitchen and bathroom. Shared tropical garden, bbq, dining/seating areas outside. Laundry. Bikes.
Because my favorite part of this business is meeting travelers to Sarasota, I am very present during our guests' stay and my husband and I often interact in a social way as well as ensuring a smooth check in and that their needs are met.
Ah… Lido… such a paradise. Close to downtown, yet it's own little world by the water. Such a sweet, slow, quiet community of people who live here all year round and then an interesting influx of tourists who visit during high season makes for a perfect balance. Very casual ( barefoot to the beach with morning coffee ), beaches are fairly empty during the weekdays but busy at the weekend with Sunday erupting into a great one man band party with regulars dancing, eating lobster rolls and drinking beer and wine coolers. Sunsets are spectacular.
The bus is at the end of the block and goes every house to town. Very easy. I do it all the time.

The place was gorgeous and private! Lots of space for a couple looking to get away. Approximately 3 city blocks from the beach and about a 10 minute walk to the Circle with all the dining and shopping you could want. The real treat here is the amazing access to the beach and a chance to get some much needed sunshine and ocean air. Jenny is a great host and this place is definitely worth the price. Definitely check it out!
This Lido Beach House studio was a wonderful find!! The studio was more than we expected on our recent stay in Florida. First, the location was absolutely great - a very short walk (and I mean short!) to all the amenities nearby...the beautiful beach, the numerous restaurants and shops, both at St. Armand's Circle and nearby hotels. The studio, though, is located in a quieter, more residential area that was so pleasant to "go home" to. Parking was convenient (right in front), which helped in unloading luggage, etc. The location is also great for a trip into downtown Sarasota.
Next, the studio itself...it was very comfortable and well planned out for a studio space. It was also very clean. There were two of us staying there and we had plenty of room. I think even up to four would work. Everything that we needed to feel at home was there...a fully equipped kitchen that utilized some smaller, very modern appliances that complemented the studio-sized kitchen but still provided all the conveniences you need, and even more!! We usually eat some meals out and like to prepare some meals in the kitchen, so that flexibility is very important to us. Every utensil and dish that we needed was there... and a table and chairs to sit at while eating. The cable TV and internet quality were better than at many hotels we've been to....another welcome plus! Tucked away behind a room divider, almost out of site of the kitchen and living room area, the queen-size bed was very comfortable and the full bathroom had plenty of hot water. (There is a washer/dryer located in a room at the back of the house which we didn't use, but we saw it and wouldn't hesitate to use it if needed.) The studio is decorated nicely, too, with added touches of interesting objects and nice photos. Outside the entry door there are tables and chairs, a grill...plenty of things to make sitting outside comfortable as well. We didn't use the bikes that were mentioned as being available to use, but maybe next time?? Overall, we couldn't think of anything that was missing that would have improved our stay there. We were amazed, in fact, at all that was there to make our stay comfortable.
From the moment we saw the property on airbnb the whole process was easy and went very smoothly. The communication with the host was excellent from start to finish. We appreciated all the information provided by the host and felt, at all times, that we had contact information in case we had to get in touch with her. Her instructions to us for our arrival worked out perfectly. The communication from both airbnb and the host was impressive and everything worked out as planned. We will definitely try to stay there again!!
This is a great location. Just steps to the beach, and bike ride away from St Armands Circle. We stayed here for the Suncoast Super Boat races over the July 4th weekend. While its a bit pricey, the location can't be beat. Jenny and Dale are super cool and are very accommodating, as they let us do a late checkout on Sunday since we were at the beach and the races all day that day. Luckily they didn't have anyone checking in that day, otherwise it may have been a different situation. The bed is comfy, the room was clean, and it was nice having a kitchen. They let us borrow bikes so we could bike to St Armands Circle. You have to go to the Blue Dolphin for breakfast!
A surprise to be able to search last minute and have such a perfect place available. After a couple days exploring Siesta Key, north to Anna Maria Island and South to Turtle Cove, we seem to have been in the perfect spot after all. I highly encourage anyone who is interested in the white sands of Siesta Keys to stay at Lido House and get the best of the area.
A great place to stay! Close to beach and shopping. Host were very friendly and helpful.
Great studio located close to the beach. Jenny was prompt in communication and made sure our stay was perfect. Look forward to going back!
Very much enjoyed our stay in the studio at the Lido Beach House. It had everything we needed: quiet, comfortable, clean, relaxing, private, and all the great amenities as described. And perfect sunsets over the Gulf every night just a half block away! Jenny and her husband were welcoming and friendly. We would not change a thing.
Jenny's Lido Beach House is pretty great! The studio, sandwiched between two other units, has funky mid-century furnishings, knick-knacks from international travels, fast wifi, a posh flatscreen tv, and plenty of no-frills charm. It's a short 10-minute walk to St. Armand's Circle and an even shorter walk to Lido Beach. (The ocean is just down the block, really.) The studio's big windows catch sunlight all afternoon and evening, and the welcoming courtyard screams "Cookout!" The only criticism I have is that the kitchen is in need of an update -- but I understand that's next on the agenda. The 3-unit house has a wonderful, laid-back, communal vibe (without sacrificing privacy) and I recommend it whole-heartedly!
Also this: when I contacted Jenny with a last-minute reservation she made it work. She's a pleasure to chat with, well-traveled, friendly, engaging, and an excellent host. I hope to be back someday.
Happy Trails to you and Dale!
The studio was clean and pleasant. The location was superb, quiet and safe. We enjoyed using the beach chairs, umbrellas and bicycles. The washer and dryer facilities were great. Jenny and Dale were extremely helpful, available and attentive to our needs. We hope to return next year.
Everything was just great. I really loved the studio, and it is exactly a 4 minute walk to the beach. Jenny and Dale were great. They lent me an old rusty but functioning bike to tour the island, when I realized I had forgotten sunglasses, Dale lent me a pair, and they even printed out a document I had forgotten to take with me. The one thing that I guess is negative: I leave a bit envious of Jenny and Dale's life on the beach :-) you've made of few nice life choices :-)
