Interaction with Guests
We are available when needed and willing to help out with suggestions for sightseeing and to act as guides on the river.
We live on a very peaceful and private 200 acre farm with wooded areas, open fields and waterways. Our closest neighbours are 1km away.
Other Things to Note
There are at times cattle on the farm and there are opportunities for hay rides.
Anne and her family was very welcoming and friendly in our stay. We arrived in Easter evening, and they very kindly invite us to the neighbour's Easter party. The house was very nice and cozy, and the bed was comfy (particularly before and after our long trip to Cabot trail). We couldn't ask for more and we learned a lot in this stay.
The reservation was canceled 4 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
We are 4 Aussies travelling by car using a USA phone in Canada plus emails for contact. This caused some problems with the booking as Anne's internet access was down and she only has a landline. Thus although the booking went perfectly we couldn't make contact with Anne until a few hours before we arrived. We were thus a little bit concerned but when we rang the landline we got through and sorted it all out.
After that it all sorted itself out and we had a pleasant stay in a delightful rural setting. Would have loved to have had more time to talk and investigate the garden etc as she is a keen gardener.
The house was adequate for the 4 of us and both Anne, and husband Bobby, were very helpful with info on where to go in the area.
Would be happy to stay there again if we were ever in the area and can recommend it to others.
My wife and I loved it, what else can I say that has not been said already, the place is quiet, GPS had no problem finding it, around 30 minutes from Cheticamp, 45 from Cape Breton National Park. We really liked the feeling of being in the country side, all furnished, we could not meet Anne, though we met her husband and son and while I did not interacted with them a lot, a small conversation we had before we left, I could you they are great people, if we could, I would have stayed for a month, you can't go wrong with this listing, 100% recommended. On a side note we have to say we also met another member of their family, their cat, my wife loved her, such a lovely cat! Thank you very much!
Anne's place was great! Her land is gorgeous, and the trailer itself was set up wonderfully for the 3 of us. We saw a coyote on the way into her property, so beautiful and remote in that area of nova scotia, just a stones throw from Cheticamp where we ate a fantastic meal at the All Abord restaurant. Really, a wonderful visit!
What a sweet and comfortable place to stay in the beautiful Margaree Valley. It was roomy, and comfortable and clean with a complete kitchen and laundry. It was a good place to stay to enjoy the Celtic Colors Festival. Anne was very welcoming, and we enjoyed her invitation to pick fresh organic vegetables from her garden. We would definitely stay there again.
We only had the opportunity to spend one evening at the mini-home (as we were just starting our trip around the Cabot Trail - a wonderful place to begin from) but we would definitely recommend it for a longer stay as well. It was great - everything that you could possibly need. Clean and well-equipped.
We had asked if we could have a campfire and although they did not have a stationary fire-pit, Bobby built a makeshift one and they actually started the fire for us.
Anne was delightful and even gave us some (picked from their garden) potatoes and onions!
All-in-all I would highly recommend the property and the owners! Thanks so much Anne and Bobby for a wonderful get-away.
My husband and I live on a farm raising organic beef and veggies. We have four children and three grandchildren who love coming to the farm to visit Opa and Grandma. Our farm is located on the beautiful SW Margaree River where we enjoy swimming and canoeing.
