Come stay with us in a real New Orleans neighborhood. We are a married couple that love the Bywater and love to show it off. Be our guests in our charming mid-century home.
You get a fully furnished side of our double shotgun house. There is also a porch swing and bistro table to people watch. Inside is 800 sq ft of newly remodeled, bright rooms for up to six people. There are two bedrooms with real queen beds and comforters, pillows, and linens. This is a shotgun house, for those that aren't familiar, one room leads to another as you go to the rear of the house, with the rear bedroom being totally private. The house comes completely furnished with kitchenware, towels, coffee-maker, microwave, wi-fi, fold-out full futon, and even laundry facilities in our backyard.
In the neighborhood, we're a half block from da Joint bbq, Jimmy's Grocery and 1-3 blocks from local bars; J&J's Sports Lounge, Vaughans, and BJ's. There is live music, art galleries, more bars, coffee shops and restaurants, all with a local feel within the bywater/marigny area leading to the French Quarter. You're still 10 minutes bike ride from the quarter, 5 min in car, 1 block from bus and 35 min walk.
We live right next door and both work in the quarter, so we're always around to help and can give you many more suggestions, both locally and tourist oriented. Please don't hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have.
Sorry but we do not book guests more than 5 months in advance.
**Please be advised*** We require a 4 night minimum stay for both Jazz Fest weekends -Thanks!

The Bywater where the Treasure lies is the secret ingredient. If one wants a sanitized, disneyfied, cloned and perfect vacation - go stay at some behemoth near the French Quarter. If you want to wander streets or sit on a porch and be part of the imperfect, fascinating and colorful world of New Orleans - then stay at Carmen and Steve's aptly named shotgun down on France Street. The house was PERFECT for five of us. Everything was as advertised, only better.
Carmen and Steve have a great place. It has a funky, cool vibe that oozes New Orleans. The apartment is very spacious and well stocked with snacks (we are now addicted to Zapp's chips). As hosts they were prompt and friendly without being intrusive. The apartment is located near some of the best that New Orleans has to offer - and for that it is incredibly affordable. We would stay here again.
fantastic, gracious hosts. spotlessly clean and well-accommodated place. and the neighborhood is absolutely wonderful. highly recommend a stay here!
We enjoyed our stay so much. Carmen was great and the place was clean and well stocked with pots, pans and other everyday items. The neighborhood is fantastic. Would definitely recommend staying here.
Fabulous, fabulous place to stay. The apartment was perfect -- clean, comfortable, fun. The neighborhood was awesome -- all sorts of great restaurants and clubs -- beautiful, old, unique homes and buildings. I wanted to spend more time there than the French Quarter. Very, very highly recommended.
Our stay at Bywater Treasure was wonderful and we all fell in love with the neighborhood (go to Bacchanal, it’s the best!). Communication was easy with Carmen and Steve—everything was great and as expected. Would definitely recommend staying there.
The place was exactly as promised. It was clean, roomier than I thought it would be and very cute. Beds were comfy. Carmen and Steve were great hosts. There was water in the fridge and Zapp's in the cupboard! We didn't cook, but they had it stocked with spices, condiments and plenty of cookware, if we had been so inclined.
The location was great--about 1 mile from French Quarter. We had bikes so we rode back and forth, including at 2 am after a big night out. If you stay here, don't miss The Joint, best bbq brisket ever, right around the corner.
Carmen and Steve were fantastic! The place was adorable and stocked with goodies- it was easy to cook, eat, etc. Beds were comfortable (we didn't use the futon). Steve and Carmen were really responsive to inquiries, etc., and left lots of great suggestions for the neighborhood- LOVE the Bywater and would definitely stay there again!
Carmen and Steve were wonderful hosts! They were available whenever we had questions and their recommendations were spot on. The house was very clean and had a lot of nice touches, such as a record player and waters and snacks. It was our first time in New Orleans, and Carmen and Steve made the experience easy and enjoyable. They were great at communicating from before we booked until we departed. I would not hesitate to recommend Carmen and Steve as hosts to anyone visiting NOLA!
