This small village house is tucked away just below the church and the traditional washhouse of Bubión. Built in authentic berber style, there are chestnut beams, slate ceilings, terracotta-flagged floors and whitewashed walls. It is a house of genuine character.
Although very much part of the village, you nevertheless feel hidden away from the rest of the world here. The south-facing views down the Poqueira Valley are fabulous, encompassing the rural bliss of the surrounding mountains, sweeping across a shimmering Mediterranean Sea to Morocco beyond. The walk down to Pampaneira which starts from the Church is one of the great walks of the Alpujarras.
This is a perfect base for anyone who loves mountains and nature. An intricate network of paths and tracks at all levels will satisfy walkers of every ability and inclination, and there is one of Spain's finest stables very close by (the owner lives in the village).
Local facilities are excellent - there is ample free parking at the top of the village, and shops, bars and restaurants are a stone's throw away.
Convenient bus service to and from Granada 3 times a day.
In the summer months bus service to the high mountains - base of Mulhacen.
Muy buena experiencia, la casa tenia todo lo que necesario para pasar unas vacaciones inmejorables.
After a long bus journey I was picked up in Orgiva by Dana, who looks after the cottage, and her husband which was great as there were no taxis, and they took me to the cottage. It is beautifully situated at the bottom of the village and has wonderful views. I found everything I needed and there was wood for the fire which was nice as it was a cool evening. The bed is very comfortable, as is the sofa bed which my friend used. The weather was unusually hot for Easter but the cottage was nice and cool - I do recommend slippers for the cold floors though. I would definitely stay here again .
Everything was great! Eva's help Dana came to meet us. She showed us around, explained how everything in the apartment worked (gas heaters for example). We spent a couple of wonderfully relaxing days in Eva's apartment that was very cozy and extraordinarily well equipped (with regard to kitchen utensils for example). Bubion is fantastic, a really special little place in the mountains, I can only recommend it!
Eva made us feel very welcome, meeting us off the bus and taking us to the house. This place is wonderful with some great views down the valley. The house has all home comforts and plenty of space with some lovely touches if colour. Definitely recommended for a comfortable stay
Eva gave us a warm welcome! We were a lot later then expected but it didn't matter. She had all things needed in the house, like firewood and milk for coffee which was really nice! The place is perfect and very cosy! We had 2 great days in the Alpujarras an did two beautifull walks in the surroundings of Bubión. Great and peacefull place and superhost!
