Casita Vitalita is a no smoking room- of course you are welcome to smoke outsideupwind from others.
June and David set up a car to pick me up from the airport - this was seamless with a stop at the Mega and he dropped me off at the front door of my unit. Unit was as described - simple but useful, clean and I liked the proximity to the beach!!
My gas ran out on the stove - a quick text to the owners and within 15 minutes all was fixed. As far as amenities go you might want to bring your own toiletries - I could not find any shampoo - luckily I borrowed some from a neighbor. All towels and bedding were clean and freshly washed.
Kitchen - everything I needed except a microwave would of been a nice thing to have.
Location is absolutely perfect. Close to town, beach is 10 seconds a way, the pool is even closer than the beach, restaurants out the front door and quiet and peaceful. Friday night is a little loud as Camarones a few doors down has a big dance party night - you could just join the festivities.
Overall I would stay here again no questions asked.
June was very flexible with the check-in and out hours, and was easy to communicate with her. She share with us a guide of places where to eat in Sayulita, that was very kind. The house is beautiful, has a great location near downtown, the house is one of the nearest to the pool and beach and the view is awesome. Definitely recommend to stay in this house.
After a bit of a bumpy start (our driver didn't show, and the phone number for our hosts had changed) we arrived at casita vitalita. It was not what we expected-it was better! The location a few blocks outside of town offered a little more peace and quiet, and the open architecture allowed us to interact with our other wonderful and friendly villas palmar residents. The pool was key, as was the a/c in the bedroom. Plenty of places to kick back and relax, and a quick stroll on the beach or streets puts you in the heart of town.
Our hosts were very attentive and accommodating. Which was impressive given the fact that they were not able to be in-country. They had great support from on-site staff and friends. Our next door neighbor (friend of June and David's) gave us the lay of the land and joined us for a jaunt and dinner in town. She really made us feel welcome.
No doubt, when we return to Sayulita, we would love to stay at casita vitalita.
First visit to Mexico. Excellent location. Perfect size for 2 people (we were moved to Casa Dulce due to a scheduling conflict). Modest space, but very clean and comfortable. We spent all our time by the pool, at the beach or wandering downtown. Hosts are very responsive to any questions or needs. Highly recommend. We opted for the driver from the airport that was recommended and were very pleased.
On another plane in another dimension I have no doubt we've known June and David. They're that kind of people. We stayed at two other places before we landed at Villa del Palmar, and I'm glad we saved the best for last. The condo was basic, as June admits, but the fans worked, the toilet flushed, and there was plenty of hot water. We didn't need much else because we spent most of our time at the spectacular beach or the spectacular pool. David and June gave us more than we asked for. When I mentioned to June that a bedside lamp would be nice, David brought a beautiful lamp from their place. When he saw we had regular salt on the table, he brought us sea salt. June met us by the pool with a plate of sweet watermelon. And their "door" was always open for conversation. They made sure our experience at the private and secure little village was magical, and it was. We left David and June with tearful hugs and plans to return next year for a longer stay. Now we can hardly wait for next winter!
This is not a place for peace and quiet, the open-air living means sharing everyone's music, party noise, crying children, and loud voices from other units in the courtyard. In spite of signage requesting quiet hours at midnight to 8:00am, this was not enforced and party across the way was raucous until after 1:30 am.
David was quite helpful with information about the local food and transportation options.
We had reserved the lower-level of Casa Vitalita (June and David live upstairs). Via email before we arrived, June and David requested we "upgrade" to a unit with our own kitchen (June and David share the kitchen at Casa Vitalita), so that construction or maintenance could be conducted at Casa Vitalita. So, "OK, we'll help you out" and take the upgrade at no additional costs.
The so-called upgrade unit we got was very basic with an old & noisy window-shaker A/C unit right above the beds (not one of those quiet mini-split heatpumps). Had to turn off the A/C when in the bedroom for sleep or even for some private place for reading. Again, to escape the noise of the neighbors, one has to retreat to the bedroom with an A/C unit rattling on.
Bathroom light just a bulb hanging from the two wires, no closet or table to put our things so used one of the extra bed, used a chair outside the tiny bathroom for toiletry items, everything in the open-air kitchen worked OK, unit was clean, and bed comfortable yet just a double.
We didn't inspect Casa Vitalita for comparison, but were disappointed with the "upgrade", and clearly noticed no construction or maintenance being performed, so wonder what were the circumstances for the change to what we suspect from outward appearances was an inferior place .
For the money would stay at another place in Sayulita in the future.
Can't please em all... so glad our other reviews speak volumes..... We were really happy that we upgraded you to Casa Eve considering that I was down for 8 days in total with a terrrible influenza that you would have been exposed to. Hence the reason that you did not notice work in progress. So sorry that our wonderful complex was not your cup of tea. There's plenty to choose from in Sayulita and we'll happily make some referals for you next round.
What can we say? David and June were perfect hosts. The location couldn't be better. Steps to the beach, quiet and still just a short walk to all the action. The room was perfect: secluded, clean and wonderfully decorated. The shared space is gorgeous and inviting. Did we mention how wonderful David and June are? They knew all the best spots in town and what was going on every night. Highly, highly recommended. Wouldn't think of staying anywhere else in town. Can't wait to get back!!
