About This Listing
Secluded villa with stunning views on the Tiber Valley, only an hour from Rome. Ideal base for day trips to many places of historic and artistic interest in Umbria, Lazio and Tuscany. Private pool, only 10 mins walk to village, shops and restaurants
Verdealloggio is a beautiful, early nineteenth-century farmhouse overlooking the stunning Tevere valley.
Set in six hectares of grounds with views over the surrounding hills, Verdealloggio is, above all, a place to relax and unwind. Yet, it's only an eight-minute walk to Giove, with its ducal castle and charming medieval village.
The farmhouse has been converted into two double-bedroom apartments, each retaining the original architectural style and taste in furnishing. The apartments also have their own large outdoor area, with a portico and panoramic patio from which to enjoy the stunning scenery.
A swimming pool for the exclusive use of guests is metres away from the farmhouse (open June to September). Children can enjoy the pool or play in a large and safe private garden. There are also two mountain bikes, children’s swing and table tennis table for you to use. Nearby, are riding stables, if you wish to go horse-riding (10-15 minutes driving).
A short walk away is the village of Giove, with its historic centre and ducal castle. Here you’ll find plenty of shops, including a supermarket offering a wide variety of local produce. There’s also a pharmacy, bank, butchers, bakery, bars and a restaurant where we have a special arrangement for our guests.
The farmhouse sits in a strategic position between Lazio, Umbria and Tuscany. From here you can explore historic cities, such as Rome and Florence, lakes (Bracciano and Trasimeno are both easily accessible) and national parks. The Rome-Florence highway and Giove train station are only 10 minutes away by car, while the sea coast is an hour and a half’s drive away.
At the property you will find:
- Private swimming pool (11m x 4m)
- Please note the swimming pool is open from June to September
- Fully equipped kitchen
- Two mountain bikes
- Hair dryers
- Towels (not for the swimming pool)
- Bed linen
- Shared washing machine (few meters from the villa)

The house was even more beautiful than in the picture. We were greeted immediately and shown the guest house. The hosts are close by and available if needed. Breathtaking views of the town and of the valley. Sweet cats to play with as well. Although not too difficult to find, would recommend not arriving in the dark. GPS would only take us to town center. Great restaurant in town. Would highly recommend for a large family or as a couples group. We were a group of 3 singles and one couple and worked perfectly.
Michele's parents were there to greet us, they were very welcoming and friendly. We were shown around and told how to get to local towns, what time supermarkets were open and other local info. There were beautiful views and a lovely area to just sit, relax and take in those views. It was a central spot for us to do day trips from , and we were able to walk up the hill to the picturesque town of giove.
The owners of the house live close to the house and were there for our service if needed. For the rest of the time we had our privacy and enjoyed a beautiful scenery and nice garden.
The house is equiped simply but you find everything that you need.
A wonderful welcome from the family, coupled with excellent views/location and simple but functional facilities made this a perfect getaway accommodation for us. We were so at ease here and had the space to unwind, enjoy the countryside and weather.
If heading back this way we would be sure to return Verdealloggio!
The place was amazing, we were welcomed with a homemade pie and felt instant relax. We stayed a week in Giove with the 7 of us, and would have loved to stay another week :)
The house has an great view, clean and the pool is a very nice feature
Ornella and Marco are great caring hosts, which helped us by finding local products.Marco even brought us some freshly picked figs
Their house is only 50 meters away, but they let us have our privacy
Heel erg bedankt!
Great place to stay with a fantastic view. Nice pool area. Walking distance to Giove where you can enjoy a good italian pizza...

About the Host, Michele
I'm a graphic designer living and working in London. I come from Giove, a picturesque village in Umbria - Italy, where my family has a beautifully country villa which I help them to rent.
My parents are into organic farming, natural food, arts, music (my dad is a painter and musician) and of course looking after our guests.
I love photography, amazing food, any visual arts, music and traveling the world.

Be prepared to step into the world’s biggest open air museum. We would advise to take a train from Attigliano, it takes only an hour and you are in the center of Rome. Trains run every 1 or 2 hours.Lazio
