Interaction with Guests
We are a nice couple and usually are home, so are available to answer questions or hang out, but are also happy to let guests explore on their own. We often cook lunch or dinner at home, so would be happy to share meals with guests on occasion.
The house is in a quiet alleyway that's about half expats and half locals. There's a large microbrewery at the end of the alley, and plenty of options for vegetarians/vegans nearby. Besides the great local cuisine, you can find good food from almost every other cuisine you can think of within a short walk or taxi ride.
We tend to walk to most places, but taxis are very cheap and easy to get from the front of the alleyway.
Guests should always keep the front gate locked.
If using the kitchen, please clean up after yourself.
A very beautiful house, with great hosts. Just before we arrived at Chris and Kims place, my friend I was travelling with got injured. Chris and Kim were very helpful with the situation and made everything a lot easier. On the side note, the shower they had here were by far the best one i experienced since arriving in Vietnam. I would definitely stay here again if i were to visit HCMC again.
Staying at Kim and Chris's place was a great experience! They have a beautiful house, the room was spacious, and the location was excellent! There were lots of good places to eat nearby, and it was a great spot to start our adventure in Ho Chi Minh City from. Kim was very easy to communicate with even though they couldn't be there during our stay, and she made us very welcome! We felt entirely taken care of. We even got to meet up with Chris and Kim in Hanoi for dinner! Thanks so much!
Kim was a great host. My experience with Chris & Kim was in all positive ways. Everytime Kim replies my questions quickly via SMS. The messages were courteous and warm. The most favorite in the room is big desk. I travel for work and the big desk is very useful. And I was glad to be provided new towels always. Highly recommended!
It's a nice house in a center place. I was there two nights and all was very good
This is a good room in a great location. I stayed here with my husband and 2 small children. We don't need much space and they set up a (fold-up) mattress on the floor at no extra cost. The fabulous caring ladies who are around much of the day were very attentive (thank you for the laundry!). We liked having a choice of areas to sit if we wanted to stay at the house: kitchen, lounge or table outside in the shade. The location in D1 is great, near lots of street food, restaurants, various small shops, zoo (nice to relax in greenery), excellent history museum, walking distance to Le Van Tam Park (great for kids to play in the evening, and you can join the locals in a great workout!).
Chris, Huong and team, thank you very much!
Chris is great - courteous and quick to reply to questions via email. The house is exactly what we were looking for - somewhere away from the main tourist hub, in a great location with many cafes and restaurants within quick walking distance. Easy to grab a taxi at the end of the street. Comfortable room, nice residents - everyone helpful and friendly. Chris' staff are happy to help wherever they can, and can wash and iron clothes within the same day.

I am originally from the US but have been living in Vietnam for five years. I have my own IT business, and I also teach entrepreneurship in university and graduate schools in Vietnam.
I make several trips to the US every year, usually to visit friends and family, and sometimes for conferences. I have a condition called opticnervatrophy, and am legally blind. I'm able to get around without assisstance, but have a difficult time reading street signs and small print, and I can only recognize people by the sound of their voice.
