I stayed with my girlfriend and my parents for a weekend during April. We had a fantastic time exploring the area and this place was a brilliant base from which to see the local towns (Amherst and Northampton) and some of the beautiful surrounding scenery (Berkshires).
Don was a very welcoming host and very friendly and accommodating throughout our stay. There we no issues at all with check in and the place was just as expected from the photos and the listing details. It was cozy, well appointed, clean and the beds were all comfortable.
We were blessed with excellent weather for our time in this great little area and were sad to leave to return to the city. I would highly recommend this place and would not hesitate to stay here again or recommend it to others.
Don and Karen were fantastic hosts in a great location. I've stayed at a number of airbnb locations and this place ranks among the best. Beautiful rooms and very spacious. They brought us banana bread during a stressful weekend shooting video at a conference on the campus of University of Massachusetts which was great.
Staying at Don and Karen's home was absolutely the perfect choice!! My group of friends and I have all graduated within the last few years from UMass and were so looking forward to a trip back to the place we all met. I couldn't think of a better place to stay than Color, Convenience, Class, and Colleges. The home was set back near farmlands in Hadley, which was the perfect escape from campus life. The finished basement provided more than enough room for our larger group. Not to mention the wonderful hospitality of the owners themselves! Don and Karen were nothing short of respectful of our privacy while also being generous hosts who even made us banana bread as promised!
With a 2 minute drive, you can be on the Umass campus which was perfect for us to attend the comedy event we were seeing at Bowker Auditorium.
With just a five minute drive into the center of town in Amherst , this location could not have been more pleasant!
Make sure to talk to them if you stay there as they are a wonderful couple who made our stay wonderful!
Thank you Don and Karen!
The house was centrally located. Parking a breeze. Whenever I had a question or needed a fix, one of them was right there.
We used all three bedrooms. Appreciated the pantry and refrigerator treats left for us. Loved the walk out breezeway.
The apartment was very clean and comfortable. Karen left us with delicious banana bread, fresh fruit, juice, milk, and cereal which was very sweet. The location is great... very close to Amherst and Northampton. We were able to take great day trips from the area too. My only complaint would be because it is a basement apartment it is a little on the dark side. Other than that the property was clean and comfortable! I would return!
We couldn't have had a more pleasant experience at Don and Karen's house. Don left us with the delicious banana bread we'd heard so much about, as well as everything we needed for a comfortable, low key New Year's Eve. We'll have to return in the springtime to take advantage of the beautiful patio.
Totally loved our stay with Don & Karen. They were most helpful and informative, and their place met our needs nicely. We slept four comfortably and the kitchen was well-equipped for our post-Thanksgiving extravaganza. Very close to U-Mass and downtown Amherst as well.
Don and Karen are lovely, gracious hosts. The apartment was very quiet and convenient, and well set up for our group of three friends/colleagues.
This was a very nice stay and Don and Karen were very helpful in finding the space and communicating frequently prior to the stay. It's literally an apartment with full kitchen, nice bath and lots of sleeping space.
Thanks Don and Karen for the relaxing stay while in Amherst!
My family had an amazing time at Don and Karen's. They were so private, yet willing to sit and chat. They had great stories and made us feel so welcome. We can't wait to go for another visit.
