The apartment was very clean and comfortable. Karen left us with delicious banana bread, fresh fruit, juice, milk, and cereal which was very sweet. The location is great... very close to Amherst and Northampton. We were able to take great day trips from the area too. My only complaint would be because it is a basement apartment it is a little on the dark side. Other than that the property was clean and comfortable! I would return!
We couldn't have had a more pleasant experience at Don and Karen's house. Don left us with the delicious banana bread we'd heard so much about, as well as everything we needed for a comfortable, low key New Year's Eve. We'll have to return in the springtime to take advantage of the beautiful patio.
Totally loved our stay with Don & Karen. They were most helpful and informative, and their place met our needs nicely. We slept four comfortably and the kitchen was well-equipped for our post-Thanksgiving extravaganza. Very close to U-Mass and downtown Amherst as well.
Don and Karen are lovely, gracious hosts. The apartment was very quiet and convenient, and well set up for our group of three friends/colleagues.
This was a very nice stay and Don and Karen were very helpful in finding the space and communicating frequently prior to the stay. It's literally an apartment with full kitchen, nice bath and lots of sleeping space.
Thanks Don and Karen for the relaxing stay while in Amherst!
My family had an amazing time at Don and Karen's. They were so private, yet willing to sit and chat. They had great stories and made us feel so welcome. We can't wait to go for another visit.
We had a fantastic time at Don and Karen's place. The apartment was beautiful and well equipped with everything we could need, and also really conveniently located. Don was a perfect host and welcomed us as we arrived and made every effort to make us feel comfortable. Also, there was fruit, juice, cereal and coffee to get us started for breakfast, and the famous banana bread was such a nice touch. We're hoping to stay with Don and Karen again when we venture to Western Mass.
The space was amazing. It's like having your own apartment. Don & Karen are great. They made sure we were comfortable. They were friendly, but not imposing. If I'm back in Amherst at any time, I will absolutely stay there again.
We had a friend with us who'd booked a hotel room. As soon as he saw the place (and heard about the banana bread) he cancelled that and joined us at Don & Karen's.
I cannot recommend them enough.
We stayed at Don and Karen's for 3 weeks in August. They are the perfect hosts! They were friendly and made us feel welcome while at the same time respecting our privacy and giving us our space. It was literally a home away from home!
The apartment was spacious and clean, with extra sets of sheets and towels. The kitchen was well equipped. The patio gorgeous! Really a lovely place to relax and read a book! The famous banana bread was delicious! My 2 year old grandson son throughly enjoyed himself and found Don extremely entertaining!!
We would definitely stay there again!
A total of five couples traveled for a friend's wedding and Don and Karen were kind enough to rent us their entire home, including their apartment. They were so responsive throughout the booking process and stay. We all loved their home, great central location and totally comfortable environment. It was like being at home, my friends and I were able to make breakfast (fully stocked kitchen), hang out around the dinner table or living room, or BBQ outside.
Nicest touch were the home made baked goods that greeted us upon our arrival.
Thanks again Don and Karen for sharing your home with us and our little ones.
