About this listing
No more than 2 minutes away from Central Station, this apartment is one of the most central locations in Sydney!
Whether you are flying-in from overseas, or traveling interstate, nothing beats how convenient my apartment on Kippax Street is. As a converted warehouse, this apartment boasts some awesome features such as huge street-facing windows and high ceilings. A delightful space with lots of natural light, you can’t help but feel right at home.
The apartment is split into two levels; shared open plan living downstairs (living, dining and runway kitchen) with a guest toilet and 2 bedrooms upstairs, with shared main bathroom/laundry. Your room is a converted loft space. It’s a small room, but comes with a double bed (linin included) and built in wardrobes. The main bathroom is shared with me, but I clean it every day. I provide fluffy towels, basic toiletries (such as shampoo) and laundry stuff (powder, fabric softener etc.) If you need any extras, beach bag + towel, yoga matt just let me know. It’s no trouble at all!
You are more than welcome to use the kitchen anytime. Breakfast is included (self-serve) and if you have any particular preferences for type of milk, fruit or breakfast cravings, I’m sure I can sort that out for you before you arrive. If you’re a lover of coffee, this might just be heaven. I have multiple coffee contraptions for you to choose from!! But, if you’re like me and have discovered you prefer your coffee made by someone else, I can recommend three excellent cafes within 100metres.
Surry Hills is a hip and vibing suburb in inner Sydney. Take a stroll on the weekend, and you’re bound to see hipsters hanging out in Sydney’s trendiest cafes, restaurants and small bars. The neighborhood is leafy and is within walking distance from the CBD and Circular Quay. If it’s Sydney’s beaches you’re after, trains and buses run 24 hours a day, just around the corner. As a local Sydneyan, I am more than happy to give suggestions of the best places to see, things to do and best ways to get around town! I also make a great cup of tea ;)
I really love it when people feel at home, so please feel free to relax and live like a local :)
•TV/DVD/Stereo/Record player (common area)
•Assortment of coffee contraptions
•Washer & dryer
•Full modern kitchen
* I’ve recently acquired a portable air-conditioning unit for your room (but it can be a little noisy). Otherwise there are fans available!
I ask that guests respect that this is my home and it's contents are my treasured possessions.
- Smoking in the apartment
- Playing of bad music or drinking of instant coffee ;)
Anna was an easy going and accommodating host.
The location of her apartment was great for getting around the city.
This was my first Airbnb experience and it was GREAT, mostly because Anna is awesome. Her apartment's gorgeous (the pictures don't do it justice), it's only a 2-minute walk from Central Station, and her bed is super comfortable (i swear) and all of her food/coffee/entertainment recommendations were spot on. She was exhausted from work that week we stayed with her but she still managed to handle two very chatty/excited guests very well. Thanks Anna!
Anna made us feel very welcome and relaxed in her beautiful apartment. She also had great suggestions on what to do in Sydney and we really enjoyed our stay. The location was absolutely perfect - we were able to walk everywhere!
Great place great host
Couldn't fault anything, highly recommend Anna s place
Un bon appart situé de façon très centrale à Sydney permettant de se balader facilement et de prendre toutes les lignes de métro.
Anna est très sympa, nous fait sentir chez nous et toujours dispo pour donner des infos.
This was a great Airbnb experience - my wife and I stayed with Anna once before and were really happy that time too. Anna's place is so central - really close to the central station and on the edge of Surrey Hills which is foodie and hipster central. She's also prepared a really nice little guide to some of the places to eat etc. in the neighbourhood which I worked my way though while I was there.
The room is smallish but comfy and the flat had everything I needed - good coffee as promised too.
This is the way Airbnb is supposed to work!
Tom- it was soooo lovely to see you. What a pleasure it was to host you again. What great fun to meet returned guests! You made my job very easy, thank you so much. Hopefully will see you again sometime in the future. Keep coming out for those conferences. :) Bring Gabby next time- I will assure her a steady supply of avocados ;)
Anna's loft is in the perfect location! Approximately 5 minutes from Central train station and nearby many nice cafes/restaurants in the Urban area of Surrey Hills. My husband and I loved the accommodations and Anna's hospitality. She was kind enough to allow us to leave our backpacks early in the morning while we walked around the city even though the room was occupied. She also provides a simple, but complete breakfast (which we did not eat, but the option was available). Her communication was timely and we hope to stay with her again in the future! Thanks again.

About the Host, Anna
Hello, I'm Anna.
What can I say? I love my home, neighbourhood and the cushy lifestyle I seem to live these days. My apartment on Kippax Street has been home to me for almost 4 years. Fabulous flatmates have been and gone, countless friends have crashed on the couch. Such a find it is, my friends and family tend to "rent it out" to their friends when they're in town, if I happen to have the room spare.
So when a workmate told me about AirBnB, I thought, why not? Sounds like a great idea and totally my thing. Having travelled a whole bunch of places around the world, the places I remember as the best are those that are comfortable (a good bed with nice sheets), a bit homely (warm lights and space to lounge in) and easy (central location and not too many stairs to lug suitcases up- I have creaky knees!). Well- I have all those things and I love the idea of my home being someone else’s ideal find.
I have spent time working in community development both overseas and in Australia, now more recently moved into the commercial health sector. I guess what that means is that I’ve got a pretty broad appreciation of the life experiences of others, and I’m down with enough management jargon to take on any consultant with buzz words ;)
If you can overlook that my little obsession of collecting textiles from the Orient everything will be fine. I’m super easy going, so feel free to just be yourself and enjoy your travels!
