Gorgeous loft near Central Station

Apartment - Private room · Kippax St, Surry Hills, NSW 2010, Australia

The Space

** From 1-23 March the entire apartment will be available for $150 per night! What a bargain!

No more than 2 minutes away from Central Station, this apartment is one of the most central locations in Sydney!

Whether you are flying-in from overseas, or traveling interstate, nothing beats how convenient my apartment on Kippax Street is. As a converted warehouse, this apartment boasts some awesome features such as huge street-facing windows and high ceilings. A delightful space with lots of natural light, you can’t help but feel right at home.

The apartment is split into two levels; shared open plan living downstairs (living, dining and runway kitchen) with a guest toilet and 2 bedrooms upstairs, with shared main bathroom/laundry. Your room is a converted loft space. It’s a small room, but comes with a double bed (linin included) and built in wardrobes. The main bathroom is shared with me, but I clean it every day. I provide fluffy towels, basic toiletries (such as shampoo) and laundry stuff (powder, fabric softener etc.) If you need any extras, beach bag + towel, yoga matt just let me know. It’s no trouble at all!

You are more than welcome to use the kitchen anytime. Breakfast is included (self-serve) and if you have any particular preferences for type of milk, fruit or breakfast cravings, I’m sure I can sort that out for you before you arrive. The place is kitted out with a bread maker, which means you can wake up to the smell of fresh baked bread in the morning! If you’re a lover of coffee, this might just be heaven. I have multiple coffee contraptions for you to choose from!! But, if you’re like me and have discovered you prefer your coffee made by someone else, I can recommend three excellent cafes within 100metres.

Surry Hills is a hip and vibing suburb in inner Sydney. Take a stroll on the weekend, and you’re bound to see hipsters hanging out in Sydney’s trendiest cafes, restaurants and small bars. The neighborhood is leafy and is within walking distance from the CBD and Circular Quay. If it’s Sydney’s beaches you’re after, trains and buses run 24 hours a day, just around the corner. As a local Sydneyan, I am more than happy to give suggestions of the best places to see, things to do and best ways to get around town! I also make a great cup of tea ;)

I really love it when people feel at home, so please feel free to relax and live like a local :)

  • Anna's place was really lovely as was she! We had a lovely stay, the area is really nice too and Anna had really good insights on where to go for breakfast/drinks close by. Would definitely stay again if we were ever back in Sydney. Room is very comfortable too, we felt very comfortable as soon as we arrived!

  • Lovely host and the accommodation was convenient for travel and spacious. only issue was the heat, but there was a fan and air con unit in room, it provided some alleviation of discomfort.

  • Anna is a super friendly person and really easy going. Communication and checkin were no problem at all. I think the location is almost perfect for a visit in Sydney. You can explore the center of the city on foot. It's quite a walk but a must-do. Also Surry Hills is a great nightlife area with lots of great pubs.

  • I thoroughly enjoyed staying with Anna. She made me feel so welcome, I felt like royalty. She is so easy going and the apartment is fantastic. Everything was perfect. I could not say a negative thing about my stay. The apartment was cozy, really clean and comfortable. The fridge was fully stocked, the internet was fast and I even had food and a glass of wine with her and one of her friends who called over for dinner. It shows the type of person that Anna is by letting me join in on the dinner. The location was amazing as well. I want to go back already! If you are reading this post, I suggest you book in with Anna immediately. It will be a great experience and you won't regret it. Better than a five star hotel!

  • Okay....but not brilliant. The loft is in an amazing location, ideal for reaching all tourist landmarks easily and there are some great cafes and bars nearby. Anna was not there when we stayed so her neighbours checked us in and out-they were pretty friendly. However, it was not as clean as I would have expected- there was quite a lot of dust around as well as some spider webs, cutlery in the drawer was dirty and also we found five or six bugs one night. The room was also hot and the aircon quite ineffective. Overall it was okay.

  • We felt right at home at Anna's apartment. We loved the location - walking distance to the Belvoir theatre and a bunch of great restaurants and bars on the way, including Movida. It was also an easy trip into the CBD - good running distance to the harbour! Anna kindly left a bunch of edible items in the kitchen which we appreciated. The other people in the apartment building were really friendly, and - even though we didn't get to meet Anna - Abi looked after us and was most helpful.

  • Anna's place was a perfect base to use to explore Sydney as a first time visitor. The Surry Hills area is full of great stores and coffee shops close by. The apartment is a couple of minutes from the central station in Sydney so makes it really easy to get to from the airport and really easy to explore the rest of the city.

I would recommend the apartment to others who are thinking to visit Sydney.

  • The accommodations were great! Comfortable bed and pillows, private bedroom, full apartment access in a shared apartment with very secure key fob access. Food/breakfast selection rivaled any hotel. Centrally located just about a block from the Central Train Station. Easily walkable to all downtown locations or a short hop on the train. Anna was a fantastic host, and she was great to get to know. Couldn't have asked for a better stay!

  • I stayed with Anna for one night, and it was great! Her place is warm and inviting, and she is so friendly it feels like she's an old friend! I felt totally at home there. The location is perfect, right in the middle of charming Surry Hills, steps from restaurants, bars and shops. I would definitely recommend staying at Anna's - she is a great host.

Hello, I'm Anna. What can I say? I love my home, neighbourhood and the cushy lifestyle I seem to live these days. My apartment on Kippax Street has been home to me for almost 4 years. Fabulous flatmates have been and gone, countless friends have crashed on the couch. Such a find it is, my friends and family tend to "rent it out" to their friends when they're in town, if I happen to have the room spare. So when a workmate told me about AirBnB, I thought, why not? Sounds like a great idea and totally my thing. Having travelled a whole bunch of places around the world, the places I remember as the best are those that are comfortable (a good bed with nice sheets), a bit homely (warm lights and space to lounge in) and easy (central location and not too many stairs to lug suitcases up- I have creaky knees!). Well- I have all those things and I love the idea of my home being someone else’s ideal find. I have spent time working in community development both overseas and in Australia, now more recently moved into the commercial health sector. I guess what that means is that I’ve got a pretty broad appreciation of the life experiences of others, and I’m down with enough management jargon to take on any consultant with buzz words ;) If you can overlook that my little obsession of collecting textiles from the Orient everything will be fine. I’m super easy going, so feel free to just be yourself and enjoy your travels! Cheers
