This is a nice apartment close to the train station and the bus stop at Plaza Roma, quite and safe inside a gated community. The air conditioning works great, which is nice under hot weather during our stay. The place is exactly as shown, except the door to the back patio is not working, so can't access to the patio. Manuel's sister greeted us and showed the place. Overall it's a great experience.
Great communication with Manuel. Manuel sent us a map with directions on how to get to the apartment from the S.Lucia train station. Manuel's sister greeted us and showed us around the apartment. Our family of 5 (including 3 teenagers) stayed very comfortably for 3 nights. The apartment is in a fantastic location just 5 minutes walk from train station. Also very close to vaporetto (water bus) stop - we bought a 72 hour travel pass for our visit and used the vaporettos lots since it was very hot. The apartment was as in photos - clean, tidy, plenty of storage space, great kitchen and wonderful air conditioning upstairs and downstairs.
We didn't meet Manuel but the apartment was nice and spacious once we finally found it.
Thanks very much.
We were told via email that the host would not be able to meet us but that his sister would meet us. When we arrived at the train station, I called the phone number he provided for his sister. She answered and said her father would meet us at the apartment but we did not know exactly how to get there. She tried to explain but we agreed he would meet us at the bridge. He showed up about five minutes later just as she said. He was friendly, kind and helpful. He even had a note from the host's sister apologizing that she was unable to meet with us in person. He showed us around the apartment but he could not speak English. The listing was accurate. Everything was clean and comfortable. We were not told how to use the appliances. We figured out the washer but unable to figure out the dryer. We emailed the host's sister to figure out how to use the washer/dryer and she told us the instructions were on the appliance which they were but they were all in Italian. We also needed detergent and the sister replied we could buy detergent at a local market. We paid for internet use, but it was not always working well. The neighborhood was fine. We felt safe and secure there. It was located only a 5 minute walk from the train station.
Thanks Betty for waiting us even through the train in Italy delayed again. It's a nice apartment very near the train station. But the air-con was not able to switch on due to building policy so we had a hot and terrible night with mosquitoes. Mr Manuel reacts fast and he sent a fan and stuff to remove mosquito next day. The building will be without air-con until 15 June 2015, but the city now is almost 30'C. All in all, it's a nice apartment and same as the photo presented in airbnb.
