You're welcome to come spend your time in Lillehammer in the second floor of my house. It's actually the main house of a small farm on a property overlooking the valley. No animals or farming going on today but you should take some time to enjoy what may be the best view you'll get of the Lågen delta. Tourists regularly stop at the bottom of the property to take pictures of the view. You can enjoy it through the panorama windows in the living room with a blazing fireplace warming your back.
The house is over two floors. The second floor has two bedrooms with a king size bed and a sofa in each, a small office and even a small fireplace. This will be your private quarters during your stay. The first floor is yours to share with me. It has a kitchen, bathroom, toilets and a large living roomwith a dinner table, couch, tv, high quality sound system, a fireplace and panorama windows overlooking Lillehammer and the whole valley. There's also a large and new veranda and an Internet connection.
The house is a located a little outside of the city centre. If you travel by car it's a perfect base for enjoying all the activities Lillehammer has to offer. If you're not travelling by car there's a bus passing regularly that takes you straight to the main station in Lillehammer. The buss stop is just a 10-15 minutes walk down a scenic road. There's also the option of a free taxi that can pick you up in the morning on any regular work days. I also have a car and I'll be happy to drive or pick you up if it fits with my schedule.
What more... There are loads of DVDs, CDs, Bluerays, and board games in the house that you're free to use. I'll also be happy to assist you as a guide or even drive you to the best cross-country skiing spots if I have the time when you're visiting. Please get in touch with me in advance to know.
I'm 50 years old, originally French but been living in Norway for almost 30 years. In my free time I like doing Yoga and dancing Argentinian Tango. I've travelled a lot in my life, and speak several languages fluently. Always looking forward to host my next guest.
Francoise's house answers the bill - a quiet and beautiful house not far from Lillehammer with great views, good rooms with sufficient privacy, great amenities (kitchen, living room etc.) and a very nice host. We spent a lovely week there on our northern exposure...
I highly recommend staying with Francoise in her beautiful home in Lillehammer. The entire upstairs is prepared for guests. The view is lovely. The bed was very comfortable, the home was warm despite the cold outside, the kitchen is useful, and there are hundreds of books to peruse. Francoise will also taxi you to/from town for a small extra fee -- very reasonable, less than the price of taxi and bus. She is very friendly and thoughtful. She speaks English, French, and Norwegian. I understand written and spoken French but am slow in speaking it -- but she let me practice for the whole week and was very patient with my slow speech and poor vocabulary.
Francoise was a great host!! We spent 3 nights there. House is big and comfy, kitchen is fully equiped.
The view from house is beautiful!!!!!!!!
Francoise was a really lovely host. She has a nice friendly and cosy house not too far from Lillehammer.
The house is very basic but it has everything that one needs when traveling.
Francoise was a great host. She even picked me and my friend up at the Station and drove us around to some of the things that we wanted to do. This was extremely nice of her. It is a nice showing of gratitude to pitch in for the petrol, which we did without a prolem.
Francoise even took us around the city and gave us a private tour of the Maihaugen museum.
Overall I am very happy with the experience of staying with Francoise.
Great place and great host. Highly recommended!
It was very nice staying at the cosy house of Francoise. We really felt at home. Francoise was also very helpful with bringing to and picking up from the trainstation since we had no car. We recommend discussing the price for this servcie in advance so there are no misunderstandings.
Francoise was very helpful and attentive host. She called to ask where there were best conditions for cross-country skiing and indicated what to see in the city. She is interesting person, knows a lot about art. We enjoyed music played by her friend, professional pianist who occasionally stayed with us for one evening. The house was warm and we relaxed very well after driving. I will definitely recommend Francoise if you pass through Lillehammer.
Francoise was very gracious and helpful during my stay. She is extremely knowledgeable about the activities in and around Lillehammer, and shortly after my arrival she offered helpful guidance about things that I could see during the time available to me. Also, even by Norwegian standards the view from her home overlooking the main portion of Lillehammer is quite spectacular.
We were only a few hours i Françoise's house bacause we got there late in the evening and left early next morning. We enjoyed the company and the chat but we were a bit unconfotable in the room full of trinkets and literally with no space to open ours bags.
Anyway, the experience was positive and we enjoyed the views from her beautiful varanda.
Thank you Françoise for your kindness.
What a great host! Perfect if you love amazing views and have a car.
