Myself, I work at our back office in the city, I seldom meet the guests in person.

Darna Village was a nice place to stay in Aqaba. The room was clean and air conditioned which was a huge plus as the temperatures surpassed 45 degrees every day. The pool was clean and the guest house offered snorkeling rentals for 5 JD. We did not meet the host but the staff was polite and helpful.
We had a great time staying at Eszter, the location was to our convenience very close to the beach, the hosts were super friendly and helpful. They gave us all the advice we could ask for and also had some snorkeling equipment to rent.
The hotel is just in front of the red sea so it's great. It has pool that was pretty good because on summer it's really hot on Aqaba.
We began our trip with Aqaba and Darna diving village in south beach (which is a little away from the main city of Aqaba) was the perfect place we could have picked to stay at. Eszter is the perfect host. She directed us to Mehdi (the guy who runs the place with her) who was very accommodating and extremely helpful, right from recommending us places to visit to giving us advice on the do's and dont's in Jordan. The room was perfect! Right up to mark with an amazing view of the Red sea. We were served breakfast in the morning and began our day scuba diving. It is the perfect place to stay for a gorgeous view, some R&R and some really good hosts.
I never met Eszter in person, but all the people who worked at the hotel were very nice. The place is far from the center of Aqaba, about a 10-15 minute drive, but very nice and quiet. It has a pool with a beautiful view out onto the beach across the street, so they are close to diving and snorkeling. The food there was delicious. The only thing is they don't take credit cards and don't have an ATM within walking distance, which is a bit of a nuisance and would have been better to know beforehand. The rooms are basic but nice and clean and have good AC.
It's a very nice hostel with a diving/snorkeling shop attached and and a pool - all right next to a Red Sea beach south of Aqaba. We didn't meet Eszter, but her sons were always around to help. The rooms were exactly as described - two beds with an air conditioner, desk, closet, fridge, and private bathroom. A breakfast of pita bread, butter & jam, olives, hummus, and tea was provided every morning. The WiFi was very slow, and only worked if you were very close to the lobby (i.e., it doesn't work in the rooms).
Overall, it was a nice stay for a couple days and I would go back as long as it stays cheaper than other options in Aqaba.
