The lounge area has a humongous desk containing a large selection of local travel info, an easy chair, a coffee table and a couch that converts into a single bed. Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • My wife and I had a wonderful time in Portland, partly due to where we were staying. Dan was a great host and the apartment was extremely comfortable to stay in. The bed was great and we both slept very well. We would highly recommend staying here as it is in a great location (only a few miles from downtown) and feels very homey in a way that a hotel room does not.

  • Dan was incredibly welcoming and helpful, and his place was perfect. The room was very spacious and had everything you could need. The neighborhood was also great, with lots of restaurants within a few minutes walk, and super easy to get to other parts of the city. I would absolutely stay here again! Thanks, Dan!

  • I had a great experience staying at Dan's place. Communication was easy, Dan was friendly, and the space was just what I needed. Thanks Dan!

  • Dan's place was a perfect location for us, a nice neighborhood within walking distance to several shops and restaurants. Despite being out of town, Dan took care of everything, answered questions, and solved problems right away. We will not hesitate to book again with Dan.

  • Great location and host! A+ AirBNB experience. :)

  • Dan's apartment was a perfect place to stay on our trip to Portland. It was close enough to downtown to explore the more touristy areas, very convenient if you are taking public transit, and we loved the neighborhood as well! Dan was away during our stay but stayed in contact throughout and was quick to solve any problems and answer any questions we had. We also made friends with the backyard chickens :) Thanks for having us!

  • Dan is a great host. He's very friendly and super responsive and easy to communicate with. And the apartment is very cozy and had everything we needed, plus lots of guidebooks and info about Portland to help us with our visit. We'll definitely be back!

  • Dan's place was perfect!!! Dan was extremely helpful and welcoming. The place was tidy upon our arrival. Dan supplied multiple pamphlets, folders, maps, and other information about Portland. Dan heard I was coughing and left a box of tissue by the door and asked if there was anything else he could help with to ease my cough. I would highly recommend this place for your next trip to Portland.

  • My boyfriend and I were in Portland for 3 days to vacation and for a job interview. Dan was great!! Very easy to get to his place using public transportation, close walk to Whole Foods, restaurants, bars, shopping, and the bus line to go downtown. The apartment is very cozy, with a part-kitchen and many guidebooks. Dan was really helpful with answering our questions and giving suggestions for things to do in Portland. Would definitely recommend his place to my friends

  • Dan was a thoughtful, excellent host. When we walked in the door, we were greeted by a blackboard welcoming us to Portland and providing a list of nearby grocery stores and shops. Then, Dan came downstairs to welcome us himself! The room was clean and had everything we needed. It was in a perfect location for us -- far enough from the hustle and bustle but close enough to downtown, which was a quick bus ride away. On our check out date, Dan let us leave our bags until mid-afternoon so we could spend a few more hours exploring. Overall, we had a wonderful time and would definitely recommend Dan's place for future Portland visitors. Don't forget to get a biscuit from Bakery Bar and a beer from Migration Brewing!

I'm originally from Chicago and have lived in Portland for about seven years. I've always had a passion for travel and have been lucky enough to visit about 40 countries, most recently Vietnam, Cambodia and Taiwan. Closer to home, funky, big city neighborhoods are my favorite places to explore. The natural beauty and mild climate are what drew me to the Pacific NW, but I return often to Chicago where I maintain business interests. I'm in property management and also a co-owner of a laundromat.
