A large, open concept, bright and recently renovated basement apartment consisting of a kitchen area, lounge area and a double sized bed with a memory foam mattress, a small dresser and an armoire.
The kitchen has a mini fridge, microwave, toaster, coffee makers (electric, French press and drip), electric kettle and hot pot. There is also a cafe table and chairs.
The lounge area has a humongous desk containing a large selection of local travel info, an easy chair, a coffee table and a couch that converts into a single bed. There is a tv with a digial convertor box (about 20 or so channels) and a dvd player with a small selection of dvds. There is also free wifi.
The bathroom has a large shower and vanity, and of course, a toilet.
The entire space is private, has a private entrance, and is not cluttered with other peoples possessions- the armoire and dresser drawers are empty.
Can't be beat for access to downtown Portland, the Oregon Convention Center, and the eastside Belmont and Hawthorne neighborhoods. Portland's 28th street restaurant row is right around the corner, and three blocks away there is a Whole Foods and a very cool second run movie theater.
I allow dogs on a case by case basis. Please contact me first before booking if you're traveling with a dog. There is a small cleaning fee.
The number 19, 20, and 12 bus lines are all close by and will take you downtown and to the airport. If you are driving there is always on street parking nearby. There is an Enterprise car rental lot on Sandy approximately three blocks away and six zipcars within a mile.
No smoking of any kind is allowed in the apartment or on the premises. The entry door to the apartment has an electronic combination lock. I'll give you the combination before you arrive. Please make sure the door is locked before you leave and after you enter the house.
Dan's apartment had exactly what I was looking for, great location, affordable, and clean & private. The neighborhood is a nice mixture of residential and commercial, and there are several bus stop from which you can go directly to downtown. Dan is a really nice host, I really appreciated him helping me find a dinner spot after my late arrival in Portland.
Dan's apartment in Portland was perfect for our stay! It was just as pictured, clean and cozy. Dan was very communicative and came to greet us upon arrival and departure, which made us feel very welcome. His guidebook in the apartment had great recommendations, we went to several of them! The neighborhood is fantastic, within walking distance to almost anything you would want to do in Portland! I would stay here again and highly recommend that you do, too! Thanks, Dan!
Dan was a wonderful host. He gave great advice and left tons of information about local restaurants, activities, and neighborhood happenings in the apartment. The place is absolutely fantastic in a great location, and very comfortable. I would absolutely go back and would recommend this spot to my friends.
Dan was an incredibly accommodating host! From the time we booked the apartment until the minute we said goodbye on the way to the airport, he was quick to respond to any question or inquiry. The apartment was clean and just the right size. He even had plenty of recommendations of places to eat and drink around the neighborhood. Because the weather was so nice during our week in Portland we just walked everywhere from the apartment. Definitely a great location. I'd recommend this to anyone looking to visit Portland.
Also, there's a brewery with a great taproom at the end of the block. Bonus!

About the Host, Dan
I'm originally from Chicago and have lived in Portland for about eight years. I've always had a passion for travel and have been lucky enough to visit about 40 countries, most recently Vietnam, Cambodia and Taiwan. Closer to home, funky, big city neighborhoods are my favorite places to explore. The natural beauty and mild climate are what drew me to the Pacific NW, but I return often to Chicago where I maintain business interests.
