Lamma Island is about 25 minutes from Hong Kong Island. It's a real escape from the city, with hiking trails, beaches, good restaurants (email hidden)ly village to wander through. You won't believe your
Double room available/ suitable for 1 or 2 people in a 1st floor flat in Po Wah Yuen Village, about a 5min walk from the ferry pier in Yung Shue Wan. The room is private with a lockable door, air-con and wifi, with good storage and a great view. You'll share the living room, bathroom, kitchen and balcony. It's about a 15 minute walk to Power station beach and 20 or so to Hung Shung Yeh (the main public beach).
Lamma is a 25 minute journey from Central, Hong Kong but it feels a world away. No cars, no skyscrapers, plenty of shops and restaurants. There are some great walking trails and good beaches in easy distance but you're never far away from the city.
You'll be sharing a living room, kitchen and bathroom. The water heater needs to be turned on for about 10 minutes before you need the hot water - unfortunately in winter that hot water does not last very long, lucky our winter days are over quickly in Hong Kong!
Interaction with Guests
I'm normally around but work off the island and travel a fair bit so sometimes you'll have the place to yourself!
Other Things to Note
Please note that the property is at the top of several flights of stairs and has limited lighting at night so you may wish to bring a torch.
Jenny was so helpful before we arrived! She had a detailed handbook that made our journey from the airport to Lamma Island easy and stress free. The place was great, everything a traveler could ever want... With a great view to top it off! We would highly recommend staying with Jenny. There's a lot of stairs to get to the apartment but so worth the views! Thank you Jenny:)
It was our first Christmas away from home but we felt very much at home in Jenny's cozy apartment! Jenny was very friendly when we saw her in the evenings, we also had the place to ourselves for most of the holiday season. Lamma is a great island to explore and to hike around. The vegetarian bookworm cafe has a very welcoming owner who treated us to some mulled wine. There is also a great little dumpling & fried tofu place further along the trail inland (delish fresh soymilk as well) The other town on Lamma is within jogging distance (if you can avoid the people!) But we'd highly suggest trekking up some side-trails onto the hill tops, much less people and some great views! There's also a side trail just beyond the windmill; hop over the fence and walk a bit along the trail in the tall grass and you'll find yourself in front of a fantastic view!
The space is fantastic with a nice view and fresh air. The price is excellent and Jenny is a joy to coordinate with. Very easy process from start to finish.
That was an amazing journey on lama island. Jenny was not there but anyway we felt really welcoming. The apartment and the room are clean, convenient and the location is perfect.
Great atmosphere there.
Thank you jenny
Jenny's apartment is close to the pier, sunny and cozy. It's a nice and quiet place to spend some time on Lamma island. We didn't get to meet Jenny, but her instructions about all the important things were very clear.
nice and clean place as in the description.
Jenny was very helpful as I didn't find it on my arrival day.
Great little room on Lamma Island. For someone who has been living in HK, Lamma is a good location to stay at. Peace and quoted with a small town feel (and beaches), but still close to the city center!
Jen is a friendly host who will give you tips on what to do and see. It is close to the ferry pier, so it won't take you long to get to Central! She keeps the apartment is tidy and clean. The room is compact but cosy, well this is Hong Kong, what you can get with this cheap price?!
Not sure why people were complaining about the hot water, worked just fine for us!
If you attract mosquito, just bring some mosquito repellant, but we guess that goes for all of Lamma!
We enjoyed our stay so much, thank you!
