The space
Kick back and relax in this calm and stylish space. Nestled in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains and Virginia wine country (just off RTE 151 in Afton), this newly constructed guest cottage is the perfect place for a fun filled getaway. Just minutes away from fantastic hiking, wineries, breweries, and restaurants, this light filled and modern cottage is perfectly framed to take advantage of mountain views from the picture windows.
(Please note: all windows have blinds installed, installation was completed after the photos were taken.)
Custom designed and completed in October 2022, this cottage located in the heart of Nelson County and the Route 151/Brew Ridge Trail has it all! Mixing modern design elements with a relaxed country farmhouse feel, we hope you'll love the house and property as much as we do. Set on just under 10 acres of open meadows with mountain views, woods, and peace and tranquility. Enjoy coffee or a meal on the front deck/patio with mountain views while the deer come and say hello. Designed with high ceilings, immense windows, picturesque views, and natural light, you may not want to leave!
The bedroom consists of a queen size bed, and is separate from the living area and kitchen. The full bathroom contains a combo tub and shower. The living room couch pulls out into a queen size sofa bed.
The kitchen is equipped with everything you need to enjoy your own meals. From the electric stove top burners to the granite countertops, stainless steel appliance, and dishwasher, enjoy a luxurious meal in your very own gourmet kitchen. We have pots, pans, utensils, etc.
The cottage has its own high speed fiber optic internet connection, allowing for fast and efficient WiFi access. The 50 inch 4K HDR Roku smart TV picks allows you to stream your favorite smart streaming apps using Roku Guest Access, which automatically logs you out when you depart.
You will have access to the entire home, it will be your house during the stay. Please note that the main house up the hill may also be occupied during your stay. While you have privacy from one another, you share the same driveway.
Things to note:
-Our main house is about 100-150 yards up the driveway from the cottage. (See pictures depicting their respective locations.)
-The cottage is screened from the main house by trees, and they both can be rented in conjunction with one another if availability allows
-While we love animals, no pets allowed
-No smoking allowed anywhere on the premises
-Absolutely no parties
-Children and babies welcome
-Quiet hours asked from 10 PM - 8 AM
-There is a dishwasher in the kitchen
-The house is on a septic system and we ask that you help keep our system operational, no foods or grease down the kitchen sink, etc.

Our newly built guest cottage is tucked away down the hill from our main house (please see pictures for proximity to the main house). Set on a quiet country road, the property consists of just under 10 acres of woods, meadows, and Blue Ridge Mountain views. Located just minutes from Route 151/Brew Ridge Trail, this location is a perfect mix of beautiful views at our private retreat while being convenient to everything you come to this area for. Ten minutes to Veritas Vineyard, 12 minutes to Afton Mountain Vineyards, Blue Ridge Brewery, Devil's Backbone Basecamp or Hazy Mountain Vineyard and Brewery, this spot has it all. Within 15 minutes of the Appalachian Trail and less than 30 minutes to Wintergreen Resort, you can access some of the best hiking and outdoors spots anywhere with ease. Whether your goal is to get out as much as possible or stay in and enjoy mountain views and modern luxury from home, you can do it all here!

Mom of three little kids and military spouse working and living between the Charlottesville, VA and Washington, DC areas. Originally from South Africa, my husband and I bonded (among other things!) over a shared love of travel, new experiences, and meeting people from all over the world. We fell in love with this area of Virginia and have decided to make it our home. We hope you will enjoy sharing our little piece of it as much as we do!
