I fell in love with Paul's house immediately! Right from the moment when I walked in, I noticed the cozy décor and attention to detail on the decorations, amenities and comfort items for anything I could or would need! Binoculars for seeing a rare red headed woodpecker? Check! waterproof matches for an impromptu fire by the lake? check! Extra towels, sheets and blankets for an unexpected guest on an unusually cold New England summer evening? Check! I almost used the woodstove :) Wireless internet to check nearby hikes? Check! Solar panels? Wait, I didn't expect that one... check anyway! I also cannot express how beautiful and magical the view of the lake is - completely restorative, even on such a short trip! Thank you Paul and Anne for a wonderful experience, I hope to be back again and again!
Paul was an excellent host. He responded to our request immediately, which was perfect because we had a really last minute request, a same say request. He told us how to get in before he arrived and met us there a few hours later to get us all set up. This listing was actually full until later in the afternoon, so Paul suggested that we could stay in his other listing on another lake. It worked out really well because it was even closer to us. The house is incredible, right on the lake with boats, fishing equipment, tons of music games and books and and table games in the basement. Its a perfect summer vacation house, it has everything you need for the whole family. My 2 year old nephew LOVED playing with the trucks in the garage.
Thanks for being such a great host, and I definitely recommend staying here to anyone looking in the area.
Paul was such a great communicator, which made us feel so comfortable about our trip. Sine it was our daughter's graduation, it need to be perfect-and it was.
The house fit our needs so well. There were spaces for all age groups, yet a communal spot for family and friends. The pond side was lovely. At one point, my husband and I stood on the deck and watched all the important people in our lives enjoting themselves: fireside, hot tub, eating, throwing a ball and dancing...
We had to go out for ice and s'mores-that's it! The house had everything we needed. Thank you.
Due to an Air BnB glitch we actually stayed at another one of Paul's listings in a neighboring town. It was perfect for our group who planned on really only spending cozy evenings in and off skiing during the day. We got a little lost on the way up and Paul was easy to contact and gave us clear directions on where we were supposed to be. He left us a welcome note along with instructions for our stay. The home was perfect. We were a group of 10 and at no point felt like we were on top of each other. As expected there were ice skates, skis, fishing equipment in the basement for us to use and the hot tub was bubbling when we got there. I wish we could have stayed longer because it was the perfect winter getaway.
I booked this home for an annual retreat with my closest college friends. It was our first winter trip together, so we were looking for a place that offered us convenient amenities. The spacious home was warm and right by a frozen lake, allowing us to ice skate after some shoveling. Throughout the entire booking process, Paul answered my (many) questions and also made suggestions for how to make our stay comfortable. The kitchen was stocked, and the only challenge was the stove; each burner seemed to work at a different heat level, which took some creative cooking. Overall, we look forward to staying here again!
We got moved to another house on another lake, but it was lovely. A bit disappointed at the move, but the replacement was beautiful too. Beds comfortable, views spectacular. Hot tub a bit small. Lots of information on the house and surrounding area provided. Would stay here again for sure!
I just spent a lovely winter weekend at Paul's home with a group of friends (8 of us). It was cozy, warm, private, and very well-appointed. We especially enjoyed the wood-burning stove and the hot tub! The beds were comfy, and the kitchen was stocked with every appliance, etc. we needed to cook meals for ourselves. Paul was available by phone the entire weekend for little questions about where to find things, and I would highly recommend this place for a getaway!
One day we took a hike up Little Monadnock, a 2000ft climb that is only a 5 minute drive from the house. We're already talking about a return visit once the snow arrives in earnest and we can venture out for ice skating on the pond, snow shoeing, and cross-country skiing.
