Tucked away in the quiet heart of rural Mitakata Village, this traditionally renovated studio features airy vaulted ceilings and a warm, cozy soul. Relax on your private terrace under the Kefalonian sun. Perfect for exploring by car: only 10 minutes from Argostoli and 20 minutes from the airport and local beaches. Your tranquil island retreat awaits.

The space
The house is 43 sqm set in grounds of 1200 sqm that includes the owners property.
Lounge Area:
You will find a SMART TV with Netflix & Amazon Prime (available via your own log in details) and various reading books! Sofa, chair, dresser, coffee table and window seat with cushions.
Kitchen:
Washing machine, fridge, 2 ring electric oven, microwave, kettle, cafetiere, (filter coffee machine if required- just ask), toaster, pots and pans, cutlery, crockery, washing bowl, tea towels, drainer pad & bin. Tea, coffee & sugar
Sleeping Area:
1 King size bed, pillows, (duvet & blankets when required), bedside cabinets with drawers, wardrobe, hairdryer, mirror and make-up shelf
Shower Room:
Walk-in shower with rainfall head plus hand held shower head, basin, shaving mirror and WC. Bath mat, body & hand towels and face cloths. Hand soap. Cleaning wipes.
Solar hot water is shared with the main property but there is always plenty to go around.

Guest access
The Pool: 7m x 3.5m and 5' ft deep has a ledge around to stand where the water is deeper.

There are sunbeds and parasols around the pool for your use so please feel free to enjoy the swimming pool area. The pool is open to use from 8am until late.

*Please note: The pool will be shared when there are guests at Villa Serene but this is a very rare occurance.

Private Terrace: 8m x 5m
2 sunbeds, a small side table and an outdoor L sofa with an umbrella for shade and small gazebo offering shade.

You will also find a small dining table and 2 chairs for alfresco dining on your terrace for breakfast, lunch or your evening meal. There is also a bistro set in the Olive Garden where you are welcome to have your evening meal in the setting sunshine.

Provided for you free of charge:

Bed:
All bed linens and fresh towels provided. If you wish to have a clean set mid stay, please let me know and we will pass a change to you to do so yourself. We will arrange this in advance or on arrival. This is for stays of 7 nights or more.
Towels:
Bath towels, hand towels, face clothes, blue pool towels and beach towels.

*Note - please do not take the pool towels to the beach

Kitchen:
Washing up liquid and washing detergent, tea, coffee and sugar, oil, vinegar, salt & pepper, oregano and a welcome pack consisting of water, milk, bread, butter and pieces of fruit.

**Please note - Should you have any allergies please inform us before arriving.

Iron and ironing board and clothes maiden.

In the studio you will also find UK extension leads and adaptors so there is no need to bring travel plugs as we should have that covered for you if you're travelling from the UK. If you're travelling from across Europe, you will be fine.
Cleaning products are also provided for you in the shower and kitchen area.

We offer a change of fresh linen and towels mid stay should you stay a minimum of 7 nights.

Neighborhood highlights

Mitakata is between the road up to St Georges Castle and Troianata Village. Its a very old village and we are only 1 of 4 occupied homes. So you can understand the tranquillity and serene surroundings we are in.

The Olive Lounge and Il Borgo restaurants with spectacular views and Kastro Cafe famous for their cheesecakes and traditional homemade menu are 5 minutes drive up to St Georges Castle, where you can also tour the castle grounds and take in the 360' views!

If you take a right turn out of the village, the road takes you through Troianata where you will find Taverna Hersonas and just a little further Old Time Cafe.

A further 10 minutes drive away and you will come to Orealios Gaea Robola Winery and next door is St Gerasimos Church.

Follow the road through Valasmata and Fragkata and you will meet the Argostoli - Sami Road.

I spend too much time: Was holidays, but living the dream now!
Hi, Thank you for taking the time to look at our holiday rental. My partner Billy and I moved over permanently in the summer of 2021 after holidaying for a number of years and we've hit the ground running ever since. I had first discovered the island of Kefalonia in 1986 but Billy was only introduced to it in 2018. I think we can safely say, "The Dream" has now been accomplished! I have over 35 years in Customer Service and have also worked within the travel industry since 2015. Billy retired from the UK building trade after 45 years. Billy is the 'Man that Can' and will have a go and put his hand to anything around the place. We have done a lot of the renovations and refurbishments ourselves and got the tradesmen in when required. We have 2 little rescue pups called Jess and Izzy who are around the size of a Jack Russell with long skinny legs, but have the friendliest of natures and love lots of cuddles. Typical lap dogs! I am training them not to enter the guest house so if you could send them on their merry little way should they try and sneak in, it would be appreciated. We hope you like Serene Suite and look forward to welcoming you on your holiday.
